This easy bourbon sour recipe is perfectly balanced and so easy to make! Garnish with an orange peel and a cocktail cherry.

Classic Bourbon Sour

(4 tablespoons) bourbon whiskey

(2 tablespoons) fresh lemon juice

(1 1/2 tablespoons) pure maple syrup (or simple syrup)

Orange

Ice, for serving (like clear ice)

Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Fill with a handful of ice and shake until very cold.

Strain the drink into a glass. Serve with ice, an orange peel and a cocktail cherry. 

A soothing and comforting spiked apple cider made with Bourbon. Can be served warm or cold over ice.&nbsp;

Bourbon Spiked Hot Apple Cider Recipe

apple cider

orange juice

cinnamon

cloves

star anise

Bourbon, (recommend Bulleit or Basil Hayden’s)

navel orange, (for garnish)

Optional sugar, to rim the glass

Combine Ingredients

Place the apple cider, cinnamon stick, orange juice, cloves and star anise in a small pot and bring to a boil. Lower to a simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and strain into a pitcher. 

To Make the Hot Cider:

Rim Glass with Sugar

If you plan to rim the glass with sugar do that now. See notes for details.

Add Bourbon and Mix

In the glass, add 2 oz bourbon and 1 cup of the cider mix.

Garnish

Garnish with an orange slice and stick of cinnamon and serve warm.

To Make the Cocktail:

I came upon this recipe a few weeks ago. We are in South Texas and we finally have had a cold snap....We made this beverage tonight and enjoyed it around our fire pit...Oh My!! this was wonderful - only changes are that we did not do a sugar rim on the glass and we added a squeeze of fresh lemon to our drink...This was a great drink  for a cool evening!! We will do this again for sure!!

We did this for New Years day, super simple and tastes great! Even the non-bourbon lovers enjoyed it. :)

Made this for the past 2 years for Halloween. You can pretty much double the bourbon without ever tasting it. Also, a bit of lemon juice to cut the sweetness bc between the cider and bourbon it's VERY sweet.

This spiked apple cider sounds perfect to me! Bourbon is my go to during the fall and winter. Cheers!
