Pecan pie belongs on top of brownies and this recipe from Delish.com proves it. 

Pecan Pie Brownies

Cooking spray

(18 oz.) box brownie mix,

tbsp. butter, melted

brown sugar

maple syrup

pure vanilla extract

Kosher salt

eggs

c. pecans

Do you use brownie mix or make brownies from scratch?

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease&nbsp;a 9"-x-13" baking pan with cooking spray and line pan with&nbsp;parchment paper. Grease parchment&nbsp;with cooking spray. Prepare brownie batter according to box instructions and pour into pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean,&nbsp;20 to 25&nbsp;minutes. Keep oven on.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk melted butter,&nbsp;brown sugar,&nbsp;maple syrup, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Whisk in&nbsp;eggs until combined. Stir in&nbsp;pecans until coated.

Top baked brownies&nbsp;with pecan topping, spreading evenly. Return to oven and bake until pecan mixture is set,&nbsp;20 minutes more.&nbsp;(If you tilt the pan, no liquid should run or be visible.)

Let brownies cool completely before&nbsp;slicing into squares and serving.

I really loved this but felt it needed more chocolate could I add chocolate chips to the pecan filling and what type? Will definitely be making it again!

I totally agree that the recipe needs updated with correct cooking time.  I did 25 & 25, but wish I did less for the second set.  Also, definitely use 1 box for 8x8 or 2 boxes for 9x13. Lastly, we thought there were way too many pecans (& we love pecans).  It lacked the gelatinous part of pecan pie.  Unless it’s because I used a combination of chopped & whole pecans.  Next time I’m going to see how 2 cups Pecans turns out. Overall, everyone thought this recipe was worth another try with tweaks.

I used a fudge brownie mix  for a 13x9 pan. The cook time was far too long. The brownies are dry and cakie 😐

Pecan Pie Brownies = Literally Dead

This is the best frosting for brownies! It&#39;s rich, fudgy, and full of chocolate flavor. Best of all, it comes together in minutes!Makes 1.5 cups frosting, enough to frost 9x13 pan of brownies.

The Best Chocolate Frosting for Brownies

unsalted butter (1 stick) (softened to room temperature

vanilla extract

salt

cocoa powder (I use Hershey's brand)

sugar

milk ((you can add more to reach desired consistency))

In a microwave-safe mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter (½ cup, i.e. 1 stick), vanilla extract (2 teaspoons), and salt (¼ teaspoon) on medium-high speed for 1 minute until smooth. Turn the mixer to low speed then slowly add the unsweetened cocoa powder (½ cup) and powdered sugar (2 cups). You may need to stop and scrape down the sides. Add 2 tablespoons of milk.

Beat on high for 1-2 minutes until creamy and the frosting is at a good consistency to pipe. If it looks too runny, add more powdered sugar. If it looks too stiff, add another 1-2 tablespoons of milk until you get to the desired consistency.

Place the mixing bowl in the microwave and heat for 15 to 30 seconds, or until glossy, easy to stir and smooth.

Spread the frosting onto a 9x13 pan of brownies.

Although the sugar to milk ratio makes the frosting shelf stable for 1-2 days, you may want to store your frosted brownies in the fridge for peace of mind.

Thank you an easy, and OMG delicious recipe! I reallly like how you listed in parentheses how much of each ingredient to add. It saves a ton of time by not scrolling up and down to get the amount and finding your place again. I needed a good recipe for box mix brownies and this was it! Best chocolate frosting ever for brownies!!!

Very easy recipe which came out great!  I added the coffee for the milk which gave it a more chocolate flavor. I will make this my go to recipe!

I made this frosting and used it with a couple Ghirardelli brownie box mixes. Everyone loved them. Thank you for this recipe. I will definitely be using it again!

I've been making frosting for 50 years (I know!), and this is the BEST chocolate frosting recipe I have ever made.  WOW!  I thought basic chocolate frosting was frosting, you know?  Nope...this is a KEEPER!  So glad I found this recipe!
