This skillet dish is super easy to make and delicious to enjoy on a busy night. The flavors are wonderful! This dish has great reviews.&nbsp;

Cabbage, Bacon and Potato Skillet

bacon

olive oil

carrots

onion

salt

black pepper

cumin

turmeric

butter (Optional)

cabbage (chopped

potatoes

Cook bacon, remove from skillet,  drain and set aside.   Saute onions and carrots until tender in bacon drippings or olive oil.  Stir in butter,  cabbage, salt, pepper, cumin, and turmeric.  Cook uncovered about 20 minutes on medium heat stirring a couple times

Add potatoes, cover and simmer until potatoes are cooked or about another 20 minutes.  Crumble bacon slices on top before serving.  Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Made this tonight for St. Patty's.  It was SO good.  Much better than the usual way I make cabbage.   Thanks so much!

Oh, my goodness----another home run! 

I am Indian----I only have a handful of Indian recipes  I make but turmeric is fairly common in this cuisine. So I was pleasantly surprised to see it used here! 

I had 2 slices of bacon so I also threw in some diced ham but followed the recipe from there. The smell was amazing---it really did have an Indian flair to it. 

I didn't use cabbage a lot before but am happy to be using it as it is good for you and soaks up flavor so well. I almost added a bit of liquid to help the potatoes cook (not used to cooking them on the skillet) but that wasn't necessary. 

Again, an incredible and versatile recipe!
