Using sweetened condensed milk, this caramel drizzle is made in 10 minutes.  It&#039;s an easy treat to drizzle on apples, ice cream, and so much more.

Easy Caramel Drizzle with Sweetened Condensed Milk

14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

brown sugar

unsalted butter

salt

vanilla extract

In a medium saucepan, bring condensed milk and brown sugar to a boil over medium-high heat, whisking constantly.  Reduce heat, and simmer (low) for 5 minutes or until mixture thickens. Continue to whisk constantly.

Remove pan from heat and immediately whisk in butter, salt, and pure vanilla extract*.

(2/3 cup) Kraft Caramel Bits

Heavy Cream

Combine the caramel bits and cream in a microwave-safe bowl.

Heat in the microwave at 30-second increments, stirring well after each heat.  Switch to a whisk once the caramel bits are mostly melted.  Lots of whisking will help the caramel bits melt faster and prevent overcooking.

Pour into a squuze bottle and drizzle onto the sides of cakes or on top of cupcakes.

Cook

In a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Gently swirl the pan so all the sugar is moistened — but don’t stir. Place over medium heat and cook until the sugar dissolves.

Increase

Increase the heat to medium-high and let the mixture bubble away until it turns a deep golden amber color. Watch carefully — caramel can go from perfect to burnt in seconds.

Remove

Remove the pan from the heat and slowly pour in the warm cream while whisking. The mixture will bubble violently, so take your time.

Whisk

If you need to place the pan back over low heat, then whisk in the butter a few cubes at a time until fully melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the salt and vanilla.

Cool

Let the caramel cool for 10–15 minutes, then pour into a heatproof jar or container. It will thicken as it cools.
