caribbean rum punch

A traditional rum punch recipe with pineapple juice, dark and light rum, and grenadine. Perfect tropical rum punch for a crowd—not too sweet!

Rum Punch Recipe

pineapple juice

orange juice

lime juice (about 8 limes)

pomegranate juice

grenadine syrup (plus additional to taste* (I used Rose’s))

dark rum (such as Captain Morgan)

light rum

nutmeg (or ground nutmeg)

cloves

Orange slices (for garnish)

Pomegranate seeds (for garnish)

Pineapple slices (optional for garnish)

Sparkling water

Stir

In a large pitcher or punch bowl, stir together all of the ingredients except for the garnish: pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, pomegranate juice, grenadine, dark rum, light rum, nutmeg, and cloves. Chill for at least 1 hour or up to 6 hours.

Garnish

To serve, fill glasses with ice and ladle into glasses. Garnish with oranges, pineapples, and pomegranate. When serving in a punch bowl, I like to cut the oranges crosswise into thin, circular slices, then float them on top with the pomegranate seeds sprinkled over. If desired, top your punch with a splash of sparkling water or prosecco.

After a recent trip to the Carribbean, I've fallen in love with this quick Rum Punch recipe. It's an easy rum cocktail that can be made single serve or by the pitcher, making it an excellent recipe to share at BBQs all summer long! This version is made with a blend of fruit juices, white rum, and grenadine for that signature pink color.

Quick Rum Punch Recipe (Single Serve or Pitcher!)

ml white rum

pineapple or mango juice

lime juice

grenadine or strawberry syrup

fruit

nutmeg

oz white rum

oz orange juice

½ oz grenadine or strawberry syrup

Combine all ingredients

In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the rum, fruit juices, grenadine or strawberry syrup, fresh nutmeg, and fresh fruit (if you want to mix it into the punch).

Mix &amp; serve

Stir everything together to combine. Chill until ready to serve, and serve over ice with fresh fruit and a dusting of nutmeg on top! Please remember to always drink responsibly.

To Make a Pitcher

Combine liquids in a cocktail shaker. Combine the rum, fruit juices, grenadine or strawberry syrup in a cocktail shaker over ice. Add the nutmeg here too, if using. 

Shake well

Shake everything for at least 90 seconds, or until the shaker feels cold to the touch.  

Serve

Pour the contents of the cocktail shaker into a glass over ice.

Garnish &amp; enjoy

Garnish with freshly sliced fruit and a dusting of nutmeg. Enjoy &amp; please remember to always drink responsibly.

This recipe was amazing! I made the pitcher version, but I do believe there's an extra zero on ml for the rum. 🙃 I used Malibu Coconut Rum and it was amazing! Could have drank the pitcher myself! Lol! I even made a mocktail version the next day. 😂  this will definitely be a go to recipe. 🍹
