How to make easy, perfect pan seared salmon. Here are my easy tips you need to cook restaurant-style pan fried salmon at home.

Pan Seared Salmon

Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for at least 10 minutes. With a paper towel, pat the fillets very dry on both sides.

Heat

Heat the butter and oil in a 12-inch cast iron or heavy stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat until the butter foams and the foam subsides, about 3 minutes. It’s important the pan is VERY hot before you add the salmon, or it won’t crisp properly.

Season

Just before adding it to the pan, season the flesh side of the salmon with 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.

Sprinkle

Carefully place the fillets in the skillet, skin-side up, lowering them down away from you to protect yourself from splatters. Sprinkle the skin side of the salmon with a pinch of kosher salt.

Cook

Let the salmon cook on the first side completely undisturbed until the flesh appears cooked about 3/4 of the way up the fillet, about 5 to 6 minutes.

With a fish spatula or similar long, wide, flexible spatula, carefully flip the fillets. They should release easily from the pan; if they are sticking, the salmon most likely isn’t ready yet. Let cook another 30 seconds or so, then try again.

Reduce the pan heat to medium. Cook the salmon on the other side for 2 to 4 minutes more, until it is done to your liking (I remove the salmon at 130 degrees for medium). Remove to a plate and let rest 5 minutes. Squeeze lemon over the top and sprinkle with herbs. Serve hot or at room temperature.

Keto Creamy Lemon Garlic Salmon Recipe

Salmon filets (skin on

Tablespoons avocado oil

Heavy cream

Lemon juice

Cloves garlic, minced

Tablespoons parsley

Heat the oil in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat.

Add in the salmon filets skin side up. Cook until the salmon is browned and the fish easily releases from the pan.  Try not to flip early or the salmon will stick.

Flip to the other side (skin side if your salmon has skin) and cook until the salmon skin is crispy and releases from the pan.

Remove the salmon from the pan and set aside.

Turn the heat of the skillet down to medium and whisk together the heavy cream, garlic, parsley and lemon juice. Let simmer for a few minutes to thicken.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve the salmon with cream sauce and chopped parsley. If you want your salmon skin to stay crispy, serve the sauce on the side.

Keto Creamy Lemon Garlic Salmon

This cast iron oven baked salmon makes tender perfecty cooked salmon and the dijon topping is so delicious.

Oven Baked Salmon in Cast Iron

salmon filets (about 1 inch thick)

Dijon mustard

Olive oil

tsp Sweet paprika

cracked black pepper

Kosher salt.

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.

Place cast iron in oven for 10 minutes to pre-heat.

Make dijon topping my mixing all the ingredients together in a small bowl.

Place salmon filets on a plate and pat dry with paper towels.

Add dijon topping to the tops of salmon filets making sure to cover the entire top.

Once the cast iron skillet is pre-heated, remove it from the oven with oven mitts.

Carefully place salmon skin side down in skillet and place in the oven on middle rack.

Cook salmon for 15 minutes or until it is cooked all the way through with an internal temperature of the thickest part reaching about 145 degrees.

Once fully cooked add lemon slices to top of salmon and serve immediately.

Salmon is an easy and delicious weeknight meal. Make an extra sevring to have on hand as a head start ingrednet for a busy week.

Cast Iron Salmon

Pre-heat oven to 450 Fahrenheit and place 12-inch cast iron skillet in the oven to heat up.

Use a paper towel to pat both sides of salmon dry.  If the skin is wet, it won&#039;t get crispy.

Season the salmon skin with kosher salt.

Carefully, remove hot pan from the oven and melt ghee in the pan.

Add salmon, skin side down, to the pan.  You want to hear a sizzling sear when it hits the pan. Season top of salmon with a little more salt and black pepper and place in the oven for about 15 minutes.*

Once the salmon is opaque and flaky and opaque, it&#039;s ready to serve.  I usually just stick a fork in and twist to make sure my salmon is done.

Serve and enjoy!
