Slow Cooker Creole Chicken and Sausage

chicken breasts

smoked Andouille sausage,

onions

garlic

chicken broth

(14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes

tomato paste

tomato sauce

Creole seasoning

cayenne

brown sugar

can black beans, rinsed and drained

green bell peppers, chopped

almond butter (randomly delicious)

salt

brown rice

Place the essential ingredients in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3 hours.

Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot to your desired texture. Add the extras, if you want, and cover and cook for another 20-30 minutes. This is also a great time to make your rice, if you&#8217;re serving it with rice. When everything is ready, taste the chicken mixture and season with salt. Serve the creole chicken over rice and topped with green onions.

extra-virgin olive oil

lb (or 12 oz pkg) smoked kielbasa

boneless, skinless chicken breasts,

red bell pepper,

Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya

This is a colorful, delicious and easy Chicken Jambalaya recipe - all in one pot! It&#039;s great to serve at parties and it reheats well. It&#039;s a bold and zesty dish packed with Cajun jambalaya flavors!

Best Chicken Jambalaya Recipe

chicken breast

Cajun seasoning (divided)

olive oil (divided)

sausage

onion (diced)

celery (diced)

red bell pepper

green bell pepper

garlic (minced)

(14.5 ounces crushed tomatoes)

oregano

Cook

Season the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once heated, add the chicken to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned on all sides. Transfer the chicken to a plate.

Brown

Heat another tablespoon of oil in the skillet. Add in the sausage, cooking until browned. Transfer the sausage to the plate with the chicken.

Saute

Heat the remaining tablespoon of oil in the skillet. Add in the onion, celery, and bell pepper. Season with salt and pepper, and sauté until softened. Add in the garlic and cook for another minute.

Simmer

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning, oregano, chicken broth, and rice. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Cover the pan and cook for 20-25 minutes or until the rice has cooked and the liquid has absorbed. Stir in the chicken and sausage and cook until everything is heated through.

Serve

Give the jambalaya a good stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
