10 Best Chicken Wings

chicken wings (about 10 split wings)

tablespoons miso paste

teaspoon garlic, minced

teaspoon soy sauce

teaspoons olive oil

teaspoon ground black pepper

teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

In a small mixing bowl, combine miso paste, garlic, soy sauce, olive oil and black pepper. Mix well with a spoon until smooth.

In a large zip-loc bag, add chicken wings and miso mixture. Press air out of the bag and seal tightly. Press the marinade around the wings to coat. Place bag in the refrigerator and marinate for at least one hour, up to overnight.

To bake the chicken wings: Preheat oven to 400 F. Remove the marinated wings out of the bag and place them on a quarter sheet baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30 minutes, turning the wings over half way to ensure even cooking.

To air fry the chicken wings: Place the wings in the air fryer basket and cook at 350 F for 22-25 minutes. Open and shake the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Let the wings rest at room temperature for 5 minutes and serve.

Crispy Smoked Chicken Wings

Lbs Chicken Wings (Separated) ((*Note 1))

tbsp Olive Oil

½ tsp Cayenne Pepper ((*Note 2))

½ tsp Garlic Powder

Salt

½ tsp Black Pepper

Cup Franks Hot Sauce, Divided

Tbsp Melted Butter

Ranch, Blue Cheese, Carrot Sticks and/or Celery Sticks.

Pre-heat the smoker/grill to 225°F, and set up for indirect cooking. If using a manual smoker, aim to keep it between 225°F - 250°F. Add your wood of choice right before adding the chicken.

Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel and transfer to a large mixing bowl.

Add the olive oil and toss to evenly coat. Sprinkle your dry rub of choice over the chicken (we used the dry rub listed above for buffalo) and toss to coat.

PREPARE THE WINGS AND SAUCE:

Place the chicken on the smoker and grill for approx. 60 minutes. Flip the wings, as needed, to avoid any flare ups.

SMOKE THE WINGS:

While the wings are smoking, make your sauce of choice (if using a sauce). For the buffalo sauce, just mix the Frank&#39;s Hot Sauce with melted butter. Set aside until ready to use.

PREPARE THE SAUCE:

Increase the heat to 350°F and grill for approximately 20 minutes.

Brush both sides of the wings with your sauce of choice (if using) and cook for another 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 175°F. Flip the wings, as needed, to avoid any flare ups.

Remove from the heat, toss with any remaining sauce, and serve immediately.

Adjust the oven rack to the upper-middle position and preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a lightly greased wire rack on top.

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and cornstarch. Thoroughly dry the wings with paper towels. Then, sprinkle the seasoning over the wings, tossing to coat them evenly.

Arrange the wings, skin side up, in a single layer on the prepared wire rack.

Bake on the upper-middle oven rack, turning every 20 minutes, until the wings are crispy and golden. This could take up to 1 hour, depending on wing size.

Let the wings rest for 5 minutes after removing them from the oven.

Meanwhile, make the honey Sriracha sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine Sriracha, honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth.

Cool the sauce slightly before tossing with the wings, or prepare ahead and refrigerate.

These baked chicken wings are so easy to make. They are crispy and delicious! Simply bake them in a 400°F oven for 40 minutes. 

Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

chicken wings (split, tips removed)

butter (melted)

Diamond Crystal kosher salt

garlic powder

paprika (or smoked paprika)

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line two rimmed baking sheets with foil and fit them with wire racks. You can also use parchment-lined baking sheets and skip the rack.

In a large bowl, toss the wings with melted butter. Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the baking sheets, not touching each other. Sprinkle them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Bake the wings until they are cooked through and their skin is browned and crispy, about 40 minutes.

For extra-crispy skin, lower the oven temperature to 170℉ and keep the wings in the oven for 30-60 more minutes.

Serve immediately. They pair well with blue cheese or ranch dressing.

I have made this dozens of times. (Including today)  It has never let me down.  Since I hate doing dishes, I routinely put the chicken, olive oil and my chosen herbs and/or spices for the day in a large resealable bag and mix them together well before I dump them onto the prepared baking sheet. I often cut potatoes into 1 inch cubes and prepare them the same way, bag and all, even spreading them on the same baking sheet in between the chicken pieces.
