Easy, delicious and chili cheese fries that are done on the BBQ! These chili cheese fries won't heat up your kitchen and can by made when you are camping!

Campfire Chili Cheese Fries Tin Foil Dinner

Spray the inside of a large doubled-up sheet of foil with cooking spray.

Place the frozen fries in the middle of the sheet; fold to enclose.

Cook the fries on your BBQ or over a campfire until they are cooked - around 15-20 minutes.

Spread the chili and cheese over the fries.

Close the packet again and cook until the chili is hot and the cheese has melted.

Remove, cool slightly and enjoy! We just ate it with forks right out of the package!

Campfire Chili Cheese Fries

This chili cheese fries recipe is the ultimate game day snack! It&#x27;s entirely vegan, made with spicy plant-based chili and a gooey vegan cheese sauce.

Chili Cheese Fries

red pepper (diced)

sea salt

Pinches black pepper

beef

garlic

(14-ounce) can fire roasted tomatoes

black beans, drained and rinsed

chipotle chiles

water or broth

lime juice

Vegan Cheese sauce

Desired toppings such as tomatoes, jalapeños, red onion, cilantro

Make the chili: Heat the oil in a large nonstick pot over medium heat. Add the onion, red pepper, salt, and pepper and cook for 5 minutes. Add the plant-based ground beef and cook for 7 to 8 minutes, using a wooden spoon to break up the ground as it cooks. Add the garlic, tomatoes, black beans, chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, water, and lime juice. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Spread the fries on a large baking sheet and bake according to package directions until crispy. Serve with scoops of the chili over the fries and drizzle with the cheese sauce. Top with desired toppings.

Save the extra chili for lunch the next day. It also freezes well.

Classic Homemade Chili Recipe

sirloin

red bell pepper

American chili powder

cumin

oregano

cinnamon

mustard powder

ginger powder

Morton Coarse Kosher Salt

Worcestershire sauce

tomato paste

inexpensive balsamic vinegar

Tabasco Chipotle Sauce

Prep. Chop the onion and bell pepper. Mince the garlic.

In a small bowl assemble the dry ingredients: American chili powder, cumin, oregano, cinnamon, mustard, ginger, salt, and pepper. In another bowl mix the wet ingredients: Water, Worcestershire, tomato paste, vinegar, and hot sauce.

Cook. Crumble the meat into a medium hot pan that is not non-stick. Stir it around and break it up with a wooden spoon until it is tan all over, about 15 minutes. Keep it simmering until all the water evaporates and the meat begins to fry. You&#039;ll hear it sizzle and it will start turning dark brown. Push the meat to one side of the pan. Add the onions and peppers to the bare metal side of the pan and fry them for about 5 minutes until the onions are limp. Add the garlic and fry it for 1 minute. Mix everything together.

Push everything to one side and add the olive oil on top of the bare metal and then pour the spices on the oil to allow their oil-soluble flavors to bloom in the oil for about 1 minute. Mix the spices in with everything else.

Add the wet ingredients and mix. Let everything simmer on medium low with the lid off for up to an hour. If it dries out, add more water. Cook it down to the whatever thickness you like. I like mine on the crumbly side, not the drippy side as they do in Detroit and Cinci.

Serve. Serve the chili in a bowl with any variety of toppings including diced onion, grated cheddar cheese, jalapeno slices, and sour cream. Or use on hot dogs, burgers, baked potatoes, and so much more.
