cinnamon energy balls

These yummy cinnamon energy balls are just 80 calories a pop so you can go ahead and enjoy a couple anytime for a healthy sweet treat. Try them straight from the freezer, yum!

Low-Fat Cinnamon Energy Balls

(200 g) oats

(283 g) packed, pitted soft dates

tbsp maple syrup

cinnamon

tsp sea salt, optional but enhances flavour

Blend Oats

Add the oats to a food processor and pulse a few times to break down into a grainy flour.

Add Remaining Ingredients &amp; Blend

Add the rest of the ingredients and mix until it forms a thick, sticky dough you can easily press between your fingers. If your dates were on the dry side and the mixture seems too crumbly, you may need to add 1 tsp warm water and process again 

Roll into Balls

Use your hands to roll the dough into about 20 balls.

Coat if Desired

Option to sprinkle with or roll balls in shredded coconut, cinnamon, cocoa powder or a mixture of cinnamon and coconut sugar.

I have NEVER left a review on any recipe before. That being said, this  one DESERVES it! This is without a doubt the BEST energy ball recipe.

No weird ingredients needed, simple instructions, and a flawless result. These are so good, seriously. I chose to roll the finished balls in more cinnamon.

What I love about these energy balls is that the taste  of the dates is not aggressive (I'm not the biggest fan of dates, but try to make energy balls/bars without them) Every recipe you see is with cocoa powder, and those are good. These are GREAT. I truly believe it's the cinnamon that is a game changer. You don't taste the dates, the flavor isn't heavy like chocolate can be, and and I find the cinnamon to be more satiating. Thank you so much for this recipe!

I’m so pleased I made them as I’ve been eating too many muesli bars lately. I’ll have two as a snack with a small piece of fruit. Yum! 

These are amazing!  I honestly didn’t think I would like them very much because they had no nuts, but I was totally wrong.  I was searching for a low fat occasional treat and this hit the spot.  I drizzled with some sugar free vegan melted chocolate, but the flavor of the dough was so good I’ll probably skip it next time.  Thank you!

So delicious! I was looking for a snack for my kids that is healthy and filling. This definitely hit the spot! My 4 kids from ages 2-8 loved them! And it’s a bonus they don’t have nuts so my older kids can take them to school. Love it!
