Cinnamon Roll Icing Without Powdered Sugar

milk

all-purpose flour

sugar

soft butter

vanilla extract

Place a saucepan on your stove at a medium heat. Put milk and flour into the saucepan and stir until the mixture becomes a paste-like consistency.

Add vanilla extract and stir into the mixture.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to fully cool before moving onto the next step.

In a bowl, whisk together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.

Once the flour-milk-vanilla mixture has reached room temperature, add the sugar-butter mixture into the saucepan. It is best to use an electric whisk to fully combine both of these mixtures together.

Spread your icing onto cinnamon rolls and dig in!

Cinnamon Roll Icing Recipe

salted butter (room temperature)

tsp vanilla extract (use clear vanilla

Heavy Whipping cream (as needed)

With either a stand mixer or in a bowl with an electric hand mixer, cream the butter until smooth.

Mixing on low, add in one cup of powdered sugar and just enough heavy whipping cream to bring the powdered sugar and butter together.

Repeat this step until all of the powdered sugar has been added.

Add the vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.

Slowly add in more heavy cream to adjust the consistency to your liking.

Ice warm cinnamon rolls generously.

Will keep in the fridge for 2 weeks.
