Place cranberries and sliced orange in a food processor and blend until fruit is chopped small but still chunky. If desired, remove any large pieces of rind that didn&#039;t chop up small enough.

Transfer cranberry orange mixture to a large bowl. Add sugar and walnuts to bowl, then use a spatula to toss and stir thoroughly until sugar has dissolved into the fruit juice.

Serve cranberry orange relish immediately.

Combine the cranberries, orange juice, sugar, and ginger in a saucepan set over medium heat. Simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cranberries break down to form a thick sauce. Taste and adjust the sweetness with more sugar if necessary. Add the orange zest just before serving.
