I've now made this a few times in my house. Even with doubling the recipe, I still have no left overs.

Was looking for easy crockpot recipes as I don't like to cook. This was easy and delicious. Will definitely be keeping this recipe to make over and over.

Great flavor.  A little thinner than I'd prefer but otherwise loved it.

I made a roux instead of adding the flour to the soup. It came out amazing. My version was more fattening though

This is SOO easy to throw together, and is hands down the best soup I have ever had! The chicken really adds a savory depth to the typical broccoli cheese soup. For the broth, I prepared it using "Better than bouillon" which we love. I added a dash of garlic and onion powders (my picky eaters wont eat actual onion, so I substitute powder for the flavor), but otherwise did everything As recipe indicated. This is a total keeper!!!

i can't afford to use cream because i wouldn't use the leftovers in anything so I'm using half and half, hopefully it doesn't detract from it

I made this the other night and everyone loved it!

I made this soup the other night and it was amazing!! Even my picky "non-soup" eating kids tried and liked it. This is definitely a recipe I will keep on hand and make again. The worst part of it however, was that there was no left overs since we ate it all that night haha. Like I said, its amazing and sooooo delicious!!!! 5 stars all the way!!!

The soup was super good, but for next time I will definitely add more heavy cream and flour. I just prefer my soup more thick. Following this recipe it will come out super runny BUT still has great flavor.

This Crock-Pot Soup Is A Weeknight Dinner Win

This Creamy Sweet Potato Soup is full of cozy fall flavor with sweet potatoes, carrots, onion and garlic cooked in broth until tender then pureed and combined with half and half and lots of fall spices to create the perfect autumn soup!

Creamy Sweet Potato Soup

Tablespoons butter

onion

potatoes

carrots

garlic (minced)

ginger

vegetable stock

cinnamon

nutmeg

maple syrup

cayenne pepper

Salt and black pepper (to taste)

Chopped toasted walnuts, nutmeg, heavy cream (for topping)

Melt the butter in a large stock pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the sweet potatoes, carrots and onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until onion begins to soften. Add garlic and ginger and cook until garlic is fragrant, about another minute. Add stock, cinnamon an nutmeg. Increase the heat to high and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and simmer uncovered until the sweet potatoes can be easily pierced with a fork, about 20 minutes.

Use an immersion blender to purée the soup or work in batches and purée the soup in a standing blender.

Transfer soup to a large bowl and whisk in half and half, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and salt and pepper to taste.

Ladle soup into bowl and garnish with chopped toasted walnuts, a sprinkle of nutmeg and a drizzle of heavy cream or coconut cream

A warm and cozy chicken wild rice soup made right in the slow cooker. This soup is loaded with carrots, celery, boneless chicken and of course, wild rice! It's the perfect slow cooker meal for a chilly winter night! The best part is, you've probably got most of these ingredients at home already!

wild rice blend (NOT parboiled)

chicken breast

celery, chopped

carrots, chopped

garlic,

bay leaves

water (or additional chicken broth)

butter

olive oil (or substitute more butter)

all purpose flour

salt and pepper

Rinse the rice under running water. Place the uncooked rice, chicken breast, onions, celery, carrots, garlic, bay leaves, chicken broth, water, and the seasoning blend in a slow cooker. Cover and cook on the high setting for 3-4 hours or on the low setting for 7-8. In the last 1/2 hour of cooking, remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Allow to cool slightly before shredding using two forks.

When the rice is done cooking, add the shredded chicken back into the slow cooker. Melt the butter and oil in a saucepan. Add the flour and let the mixture cook for 1 minute. Whisk the mixture slowly while adding in the milk. Continue to whisk until all lumps have dissolved. Allow the mixture to thicken and become creamy.

Add this creamy mixture to the slow cooker....

Add this creamy mixture to the slow cooker. Stir to combine. Add additional water or milk to your preference if the consistency is too thick. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
