Add the tomato sauce and seasonings to a bowl and mix together.

Cook for 8 to 12 hours on low heat or until meat is fully tender and starts to fall apart.

Marzetti Simply Dressed Balsamic dressing

Place the pork, soda, garlic, chili powder, oregano, and Worcestershire sauce in the crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 6-8 hours.

When the meat falls apart easily, shred it directly in the crockpot with two forks. Add the balsamic dressing and stir with the liquid in the crockpot. The meat should be saucy and moist.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees (or use the broil setting if you have that) and transfer the mixture to a baking sheet lined with foil. Spread it in an even, thin layer and cook in the preheated oven until the juices are bubbling and the edges are crispy, 10-15 minutes (less time if you have a broil setting).

Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy on sandwiches, with a baked potato, or however else you want to enjoy it.

Put the chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot in an even layer.

Combine cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mix all over the pork shoulder.

Preparation

Nestle the seasoned pork on top of the onions and garlic.

Pour in the beef broth, the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies (including the juices), and the fresh lime juice.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 4 hours, until the meat is extremely tender and easily pulls apart with forks.

Cooking

Remove the pork to a cutting board or shred directly in the crockpot using two forks. Mix the shredded pork with the cooking juices so the meat stays moist.
