In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix well.

In a separate large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and both sugars until soft using an electric mixer. Add the eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla, and almond extract and mix again until fully blended.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and blend until fully incorporated. The mixture will be very crumbly at first. Continue mixing and knead with your hands if necessary.

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Scoop the chilled cookie dough with a large (3-tablespoon) cookie scoop or 1/4-cup measuring cup and use your hands to roll it into smooth, round balls. Place the balls 2 inches apart on the baking sheet and bake for 9 to 10 minutes, checking periodically.

As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, use a flat-bottomed glass to gently press the cookies down into round disks, being careful not to flatten them too much. The edges of the cookies should appear cracked after pressing.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely before applying frosting.

Combine the butter, powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract in a medium mixing bowl. Blend until smooth using an electric mixer.

Add 2 to 3 inches of gel food coloring and blend again. If needed, continue adding food coloring until you’ve reached your desired shade of pink. The frosting will be thick and should spread like softened butter or cream cheese.

Using a butter knife, apply the frosting to the cookies starting in the center and working outwards. Allow the frosting to sit for 30 minutes to stiffen before serving.

Crumbl Birthday Cake Cookies

unsalted butter (If you use salted butter omit the 1/2 teaspoon salt)

rainbow sprinkles

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

In a large bowl combine butter and granulated sugar. Cream butter and sugar together with an electric mixture unil the butter is light and fluffy.

After the butter and sugar are light and fluffy, add 2 large eggs and mix well.

Add salt, vanilla extract, cake batter flavoring, baking powder, and flour to the butter mixture. Mix until the flour is well incorporated.

Add 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles, and mix into batter.

Portion the cookie dough into 12 dough balls with either a 1/4 cup measuring cup. You can use a scale to portion the dough by 75 grams. You will have a very small portion left over.

Place the dough balls onto two parchment-lined baking sheets. Place six dough balls on each sheet. Press each dough ball gently with a glass to spread them out to just under 1/4 inch thickness.

Bake cookies for 11 to 12 minutes, for a slightly underbaked texture. Add a minute or two if you want them more well done.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely before applying frosting.

Combine all the frosting ingredients in a medium mixing bowl and blend until smooth using an electric mixer.

Place the frosting in a piping bag with a medium tip. Pipe the frosting onto cookies in a pinwheel pattern, starting from the center and working outward, and immediately top with sprinkles.

Allow the frosting to sit for 30 minutes to stiffen before serving.

Crumbl Ultimate Peanut Butter Cookies

unsalted butter (softened (2 sticks))

brown sugar

white granulated sugar (divided use)

peanut butter (divided use)

Using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and 1 cup of white granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix on high until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the eggs and mix until incorporated. Then add the vanilla extract, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and 1 cup of peanut butter and mix until well blended. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Divide the chilled dough into 75-gram or 1/4-cup portions (they will be big). Roll each portion into a round, smooth ball using the palms of your hands.

Press your thumb into the center of each cookie dough ball, creating a large crater. Add about 1 teaspoon of peanut butter into each crater, pinch the opening back together, and roll each cookie through the remaining 1/2 cup of white sugar, covering each ball completely.

Gently press the cookies between your hands to flatten them slightly into the shape of a disk.

Place the cookies about 4 to 4 1/2 inches apart on the parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 11 to 13 minutes for slightly underdone cookies or 13 to 15 minutes for more well-done cookies. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

As the cookies are cooling, add the remaining peanut butter to a sandwich-size Ziplock bag. Cut the smallest hole possible from one corner of the bag. Squeeze the peanut butter through the hole and pipe zig-zag lines onto the face of each cookie. Serve warm right away or at room temperature.

Yumeee!  These cookies are really good!  I added 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the dough in the last round of baking and left off the drizzle to save time.  I also make them a little bit smaller.  I've used a 1/3 cup and a 1/4 cup to measure while adjusting the peanut butter that goes into the center just a little.  It depends on the crowd I'm baking for.  If it's kids they are bigger, adults are smaller.  Baking time still is about 15 minutes in my oven.  Probably the best peanut butter cookies I've ever made!

In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and airy, scraping down the sides of the mixer as needed. Don’t cut the time short on this step; it should take 3 to 5 minutes for the mixture to be fully creamed.

Add the vanilla and one of the eggs. Mix on low until the yolk is broken. Add the remaining egg and mix on low until the second yolk is broken. The eggs should not be fully incorporated into the creamed butter mixture at this time.

In a small bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.

Add the flour mixture to the creamed butter. Mix on low until just incorporated; do not overmix. The batter may resemble wet sand instead of a cohesive batter, but it will hold together if you compress a small ball of dough in your hands. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Form the cookie dough into 5.5-ounce balls. Press each ball into a disk about 1/2 inch thick.

Cover the cookies and refrigerate overnight or for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the chilled cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake until the cookies are golden brown, about 14 to 16 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes.
