Classic crumpets

yeast

caster sugar

300 g strong white flour

½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

vegetable oil

350 ml double cream

This method is slightly easier than the traditional method, simply cut into quarters and serve with your favourite toppings.

Air fryer custard-stuffed crumpets recipe

(2/3 cup) bought vanilla custard

square crumpets

Golden syrup, to serve

Step 1

Pour 2 tbsp vanilla custard onto the top of each crumpet. Use a knife to spread and slowly press the custard into the crumpet holes.

Step 2

Place 2 stuffed crumpets in the air fryer basket. Cook at 180C for 10 minutes or until the crumpets are golden. Repeat with the remaining crumpets and custard.

Step 3
