Easy Date Shake

oz Almond Milk

tbsp Almond Butter

tsp Ground Cinnamon

Dates (pitted, softened)

Banana (frozen, sliced)

Combine all the ingredients in the blender and blend until creamy. Enjoy!

I don&#039;t know about you but, in the afternoon, I really want a beverage that&#039;s loaded with nutrition but also tastes a lot like chocolate and is full of caffeine.So basically, this is a date shake masquerading as a chocolate shake that supplies a bit of a pick-me-up and also gives you some world class nutrition.Other things you could add? Kahlua, vodka, chocolate liqueur, bourbon, or creme de menthe. Not all at once.Did I mention it&#039;s dairy-free?This recipe first appeared in the Pantry Raid video series.

Chocolate Date Shake

almond milk

Medjool dates

banana,

cocoa powder

kosher salt

ice cubes

brewed coffee, chilled ((or chilled cold brew))

Combine the almond milk, dates, banana, cocoa powder, and salt in a blender. Blend on medium speed until the dates have been broken up, about 1 minute. Increase the speed to high and continue to blend until smooth, about 20 seconds.

Add the ice and coffee. Blend on high speed until you don&#039;t hear any more chunky bits of ice running around in the blender, about 15 seconds. Pour out into glasses and consume with a straw.

I tried the infamous Date Shake on a trip to Palm Springs a few years ago, and it was love at first sip! I was instantly hooked, and I knew I had to recreate my own version at home. Needless to say, I’ve been making this copycat Palm Springs Date Shake recipe for YEARS and it&#039;s still one of my favorite healthy frozen treats! It has all the same sweet flavor and creamy texture as the original, but I make mine with healthy ingredients and higher protein. All you need are 6 ingredients, a blender, and 10 minutes. It’s one of my favorite breakfasts, and my kids love it for dessert!

Date Shake Recipe

cottage cheese (or Greek yogurt)

pitted dates (Deglet Noor or Medjool)

maple syrup (optional, to taste)

banana

cinnamon

milk ice cubes

Combine

Blend

Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides and using a tamper as needed.

Serve

Pour into glasses, top with chopped dates, whipped cream, or anything else you want.

Enjoy

This was way better than I thought it would be. I added 1 tablespoon of white sugar instead of the maple syrup and it was already too sweet. Adding 2 to 3 tablespoons of maple syrup would have been overkill. If the banana is ripe then I don't think it needs any extra sugar.

This date shake looks so creamy and naturally sweet—such a great pick-me-up!

Now THAT is a protein smoothie I can really enjoy! Had some cottage cheese in the fridge and had to try it. So good!

Date Shake

Learn to make a Palm Springs Date Shake using medjool dates, frozen yogurt, milk and cinnamon.

medjool dates

milk (I used almond milk)

yogurt (vanilla)

cinnamon (ground)

salt (optional)

Begin by soaking your pitted dates in milk (I used almond milk) for about 10 minutes. This helps to soften them and infuse their caramel-like flavor into your drink.

Add dates, milk, cinnamon and frozen yogurt to your blender. I recommend a pinch of salt, but this is optional.

Blend and pulse until smooth. You will still see specs of dark brown date in your smoothie, but there should be no chunks. Once you have a smooth texture, you are ready to pour it into a glass and serve.

Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Tried this with unsweetened Greek yogurt and a little vanilla extract and it was amazing! I’ll definitely make it again.

Made these for my son - they were great - pretty sweet - I might add something salty and spicy (tahine or ghost pepper salt) next time.
