This Easy Dirt Cake Recipe (Oreo Dirt Pudding) is one of our favorite no-bake desserts! Crushed Oreos are layered between a french vanilla pudding mixture for a kid-friendly, make-ahead dessert recipe perfect for any potluck or BBQ! Add gummy worms for a whimsical touch!

The Best Oreo Dirt Cake Recipe (Dirt Pudding)

milk

vanilla pudding

Oreo cookies (divided)

butter (room temperature)

oz cream cheese (room temperature)

sugar

oz cool whip (thawed in the refrigerator)

Gummy worms (optional)

Remove 8 Oreos from the package and place on a cutting board.

Cut the cookies into small, ¼” pieces, set aside.

Put the remaining Oreos into the container of a food processor fit with an “S” blade.

Process until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. You may need to pause, break apart cookies that get stuck to the blades, and continue processing.

If you don’t have a food processor, you can crush the Oreos with a rolling pin.

Set aside.

Crush the Oreos:

In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and pudding. Set aside in the refrigerator to solidify.

In the bowl of your standing mixer or with a hand-held mixer in a large bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese. Beat until well combined &amp; smooth (about 30-60 seconds).

Add powdered sugar and beat until smooth.

Add pudding to the butter/cream cheese mixture (make sure it has set before adding), and beat on low speed to combined.

Fold in cool whip until the mixture is homogenous (uniform throughout).

Make the pudding:

Layer the pudding mixture and cookies. Start by pouring 2 cups of pudding mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish and spread it until level.

Sprinkle ½ cup cookie crumbs and ¼ cup chopped cookies evenly over the pudding.

Repeat using 2 cups of pudding, ½ cup cookie crumbs and ¼ cup chopped cookies for each layer.

Add gummy worms to each layer as desired, or only add some to the top.

Be sure the final layer is cookie crumbs!

Refrigerate overnight before serving.

If you're using a large play pail to...

If you're using a large play pail to serve the pudding, you might want to place the whipped topping lid upside down in the bottom. This shortens the pail and makes it so the pudding will go all the way up to the top. Place a layer of Oreos at the bottom. Put a layer of the pudding mixture over top. Repeat until both are gone, beginning and ending with the Oreos. Arrange gummy worms on top. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.

Margarine (or butter)

oz cool whip

Crush ⅔ package of Oreos and place in the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Set aside.

Mix cream cheese and margarine (or butter) until smooth. Mix in powdered sugar and fold in whipped topping. Set aside.

In a separate bowl mix pudding, milk and vanilla. Fold this mixture in with the cream cheese mixture.

Pour over crumb mixture.

Sprinkle with the reserve crushed Oreos. Let set for a few hours and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

This is quite literally the best Dirt Cake recipe on the internet. In just 15 minutes you can make this delicious dessert with yummy chocolate and cream OREO cookies layered with a rich, creamy custard.

packages French Vanilla Jello INSTANT Pudding

Cool Whip

Cream together butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar in a large bowl until just blended. Do not over mix.

In a separate large bowl whisk together pudding mix, milk, and Cool Whip. 

Add pudding mixture to the cream cheese mixture and mix until uniform.

Crush Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or blender (affiliate link).

Use a ladle to scoop about 1-1 1/4 cups pudding mix into the center of a trifle dish. Push to the edges with the back of a spoon.

Use a large spoon to cover pudding with about 1/4 inch of OREO crumbs. 

Repeat layers until done, about 4 layers of each. Tap final OREO layer into the top of the dirt cake with the back of a spoon.

For best results, chill at least two hours before serving.

Just crush the whole cookie and use it all to layer with the pudding mixture!

I made a few changes to your recipe, but I’m not a big sugar fan. I cut the amount of powderd sugar to 1/2 cup, and I used white chocolate pudding instead of French vanilla. I’ve made this twice and the family loves it. Thanks for the great recipe

Thanks for posting your recipe.. I make this once to every few years.  It is a favorite of mine ever since I was a kid my aunt would make this desert for Christmas gathering.  I made this a bit different tonight.  I was in the mood for a chocolate peanut butter dirt pudding.  all I did was use Oreo peanut butter cookies crushed up, Instant chocolate pudding and pie filling and I made my own whipped cream. I layered cookies, chocolate pudding and then another layer of cookies on top... the rest of the chocolate pudding I mixed in 3 table spoons of peanut butter :)... and then put the chocolate peanut butter pudding on top of the crushed cookies and added rest of crushed cookies to top it off...

delicious, this is my go-to recipe for all parties and pot lucks...thank you!

How to Make Dirt Cake

This No Bake Keto Dirt Cake recipe will blow your mind! It&#39;s a decadent no-bake dessert with chocolate pudding, peanut butter cheesecake, and a chocolate cookie crust!

Keto Dirt Cake Recipe

almond flour

cocoa powder

Swerve Confectioners

butter (melted)

tsp salt

whipping cream (divided)

peanut butter

heavy whipping cream

almond milk (or any low carb milk)

granular allulose ((or more Swerve))

tsp glucomannan

butter

HighKey brownie bites, crushed (see Tips for alternatives)

In a medium bowl, whisk together almond flour, cocoa powder, sweetener, and salt. Add the melted butter and stir until well combined.

Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of a 9 inch springform pan.

Crust

In a large bowl, whip half a cup of the whipping cream until it holds stiff peaks.

In another large bowl, beat the cream cheese for a minute or two, until extra creamy. Add the peanut butter, sweetener, and vanilla extract and beat until well combined. Add the remaining two tablespoons of heavy cream and beat in to lighten.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until no streaks remain. Spread carefully over crust. Refrigerate while preparing pudding layer.

Peanut Butter Layer

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream and hemp milk. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and whisk in the sweetener.

In a medium bowl, whisk the egg and egg yolks together until smooth. Slowly add half a cup of the hot cream mixture into the eggs, whisking continuously. Slowly whisk the tempered eggs back into the saucepan of hot cream mixture.

Stir in the cocoa powder and return the mixture to medium low heat. Continue to whisk continuously until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken, 3 to 5 minutes. Then sprinkle the surface with glucomannan and whisk vigorously to combine.

Remove from heat and add the butter and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth. Let cool about 15 minutes and then spread evenly over peanut butter layer.

Sprinkle the top of the cake with crushed brownie bites. Refrigerate until completely set, at least 3 hours.

To serve, run a sharp knife around the inside of the pan and remove sides. Run the knife under hot water to cut nice even slices.

Chocolate Pudding Layer

Melt the butter separately. In the 9x11 baking dish, mix the melted butter with 2/3 of the crushed Oreos until well combined. Press this mixture evenly onto the bottom of the dish to form the crust.
