This Easy Dirt Cake Recipe (Oreo Dirt Pudding) is one of our favorite no-bake desserts! Crushed Oreos are layered between a french vanilla pudding mixture for a kid-friendly, make-ahead dessert recipe perfect for any potluck or BBQ! Add gummy worms for a whimsical touch!

The Best Oreo Dirt Cake Recipe (Dirt Pudding)

milk

vanilla pudding

Oreo cookies (divided)

butter (room temperature)

oz cream cheese (room temperature)

sugar

oz cool whip (thawed in the refrigerator)

Gummy worms (optional)

Remove 8 Oreos from the package and place on a cutting board.

Cut the cookies into small, ¼” pieces, set aside.

Put the remaining Oreos into the container of a food processor fit with an “S” blade.

Process until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. You may need to pause, break apart cookies that get stuck to the blades, and continue processing.

If you don’t have a food processor, you can crush the Oreos with a rolling pin.

Set aside.

Crush the Oreos:

In a medium bowl, whisk together milk and pudding. Set aside in the refrigerator to solidify.

In the bowl of your standing mixer or with a hand-held mixer in a large bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese. Beat until well combined &amp; smooth (about 30-60 seconds).

Add powdered sugar and beat until smooth.

Add pudding to the butter/cream cheese mixture (make sure it has set before adding), and beat on low speed to combined.

Fold in cool whip until the mixture is homogenous (uniform throughout).

Make the pudding:

Layer the pudding mixture and cookies. Start by pouring 2 cups of pudding mixture into the bottom of a trifle dish and spread it until level.

Sprinkle ½ cup cookie crumbs and ¼ cup chopped cookies evenly over the pudding.

Repeat using 2 cups of pudding, ½ cup cookie crumbs and ¼ cup chopped cookies for each layer.

Add gummy worms to each layer as desired, or only add some to the top.

Be sure the final layer is cookie crumbs!

Refrigerate overnight before serving.

If you're using a large play pail to...

If you're using a large play pail to serve the pudding, you might want to place the whipped topping lid upside down in the bottom. This shortens the pail and makes it so the pudding will go all the way up to the top. Place a layer of Oreos at the bottom. Put a layer of the pudding mixture over top. Repeat until both are gone, beginning and ending with the Oreos. Arrange gummy worms on top. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.

Dirt Pudding cheesecake bars are pure yum! Creamy meets crunchy in this dirt pudding recipe and the results are simply delightful!!

Easy Dirt Pudding Cheesecake Bars Dessert Recipe

Oreos (crushed (about 2 cups))

unsalted butter

cream cheese (softened)

chocolate pudding

sour cream

vanilla extract

Oreos (crushed (about 1 cup))

chocolate syrup

mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

gummy worms

Line a 9x9” square baking dish with parchment paper.

Make the crust by crushing Oreos in a food processor or zippered bag. Add the melted butter and mix with the crushed Oreos.

Press the Oreo crust into the prepared pan and press down.

Freeze the crust for at least 15 minutes while you make the cheesecake layer.

In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth with a hand mixer.

Add the chocolate pudding and beat well.

Once smooth, add the sour cream and vanilla and mix until combined.

Stir in the crushed Oreos and a handful of gummy worms (about 1/2 cup).

Pour the cheesecake batter over the prepared crust.

Drizzle the chocolate syrup over the batter and add another handful of gummy worms (optional).

Fold the chocolate syrup and gummy worms into the batter while you press it into the pan.

Smooth the top, cover, and refrigerate for 4-6 hours (cheesecake can also be frozen)

Once the cheesecake bars are set, remove the cheesecake bars from the refrigerator and cut them into 9 bars (you could also cut them into 16 bars)..

For the topping, remove the middle of the Oreo and crush just the cookies in a zippered bag.

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments until smooth (stirring between).

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of chocolate onto each cheesecake bar.

Top with crushed Oreos and garnish with a gummy worm (work 1-2 at a time so the Oreos and gummy worm stick to the chocolate before it hardens..

Once the chocolate has hardened, serve immediately or store in the refrigerator.
