Do Nothing Cake

all-purpose flour

baking soda

salt

white granulated sugar

eggs

vanilla extract

pineapple

butter

evaporated milk

chopped nuts (pecans

coconut

Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt and sugar.  Add eggs, vanilla extract and pineapple.  Stir with a spoon to combine all ingredients.  Spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with cooking spray and add batter.  Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 -35 minutes until the center tests done.  Make frosting below and poke holes in hot cake with a wooden spoon.

Bring butter, sugar and milk to a boil in a pan on top of the stove.  Cook and stir about 3 minutes.  Remove from stove and stir in nuts and coconut.  Pour over hot cake.

This Do Nothing Cake recipe is made simple with the help of a yellow cake mix. Moist, delicious cake is topped with a sweet topping that includes shredded coconut and chopped pecans. A classic cake that is sure to be a hit.

Do Nothing Cake Recipe

(8 ounce) can crushed pineapple

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Pour cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla, crushed pineapple, and water into a mixing bowl. Mix until combined.

Pour the cake batter into prepared baking pan. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

While the cake is baking, prepare the topping by stirring together evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the shredded coconut and chopped pecans.

Once you remove the cake from the oven, poke a few holes in the top of the cake with a fork. Pour the topping over the cake. Let it completely cool before serving.

18 ounces of pineapple was too much!  I remade it and used about a third of a can and it was much better.  Yum, will make again!

What a waste of ingredients. With the price of groceries, I hope you can understand my anger. There’s too much fluid in this recipe and the cake, if you wanna call it a cake, is sloppy I noticed beforehand that you have 18 ounce can of crushed pineapple, when in fact, crush pineapple comes in 20 ounce cans. I adjusted the water that you called for accordingly and it was still too wet. And then to pour the coconut pecan stuff over the top… perhaps your family enjoys it this way🤷‍♀️.  Just really disappointed I won’t ever be making this again!

Tornado Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9 by 13 inch baking dish with nonstick spray.

In a large bowl, stir together all cake ingredients until blended.

Pour into prepared dish and bake 30-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove to cooling rack and poke holes about 1 inch apart in the cake with a wooden skewer, chopstick, or handle of a wooden spoon.

Combine butter, vanilla, evaporated milk, and sugar in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium high heat, stirring often, until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in nuts and coconut flakes. Pour mixture over the cake while it is still hot and spread evenly. Let topping set a few minutes before serving for best results.

I think it would've said drained. So yes add the can of fruit juice and all. That's my expert advice

It may make the topping a little thinner so you would probably want to put in more nuts and maybe chop them smaller

My husband like this cake so much, I'm making it again this weekend.  It is simply delicious!!!
