The best apple crumble

Bramley apple(3 medium apples),

golden caster sugar

plain flour

cold butter

tbsp rolled oats

sugar

clotted cream

Heat the oven to 190C/170 fan/gas 5.

Toss 575g peeled, cored and sliced Bramley apples with 2 tbsp golden caster sugar and put in a 23cm round baking dish at least 5cm deep, or a 20cm square dish. Flatten down with your hand to prevent too much crumble falling through.

Put 175g plain flour and 110g golden caster sugar in a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/top-five-mixing-bowls">bowl</a> with a good pinch of salt.

Slice in 110g cold butter and rub it in with your fingertips until the mixture looks like moist breadcrumbs. Shake the bowl and any big bits will come to the surface – rub them in. Alternatively, pulse in a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/test-five-best-food-processors">processor</a> until sandy (don’t over-process).

Pour the crumb mix over the apples to form a pile in the centre, then use a fork to even out.

Gently press the surface with the back of the fork so the crumble holds together and goes crisp, then lightly drag the fork over the top for a decorative finish.

Sprinkle 1 tbsp rolled oats and 1 tbsp demerara sugar over evenly, if you wish.

Set on a <a href="https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/content/kimberley-wilsons-top-5-baking-trays">baking tray</a> and put in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden and the apples feel very soft when you insert a small, sharp knife. Leave to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

This quick and easy apple crisp is filled with tender baked apple slices and topped with a crunchy brown sugar oat streusel.

Easy Apple Crisp

granulated sugar (depending on how sweet your apples are)

cinnamon

(70 grams) rolled oats

(94 g) all-purpose flour

(75 grams) brown sugar, lightly packed

⅓ cup (76 grams) unsalted butter, melted

In a 9&#8243; square or round baking dish, toss together all the filling ingredients.

In a medium bowl, mix together the oats, flour and brown sugar. Add in the melted butter and stir until all is moistened. Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the filling.

Bake for 35-40 minutes until the apples are tender and bubbling.

I made this and it was very fast and easy and also delicious made one in the morning and one after supper thank you once again little sweet Baker

Oh boy this was the best recipe yet for apple crisp!! So good I've decided to make two batches!! And I must say I read some comments beforehand and sure glad I did! I had only "quick oats" on hand and saw you advised a reader to add one more tbsp of butter! Very YUMMY!! TY.

This was a lovely apple crisp, not too much sugar so it doesn't take away the little bit of tartness to the apples. As well as a delicious crumble topping. This is going to be my go-to when cooking apple crisp.

Tasty and nutritious  one dessert

This is delicious!  I'm a terrible baker so I followed the recipe exactly and it came out wonderful!  I used gala apples and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Soooooo good!  It's not overly sweet and the crumble adds a great texture.  Next time I have extra apples, I'll make this again!

I loved this recipe!  The topping was great, I usually add nuts but the crunch was great without them.

An easy to make vegan apple crumble with all gluten-free ingredients. Can also be adjusted to become nut-free. It is low in sugar, delicious and this vegan apple crumble keeps in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Easy Vegan Apple Crumble

Decore and peel the

Decore and peel the apples. Cut them in half, then slice the apples. Don't cut them too thin or they will break during the preparation phase. 
In a large nonstick pot, combine cornstarch with 1 1/2 cups of cold water, and stir until fully dissolved. Add the sliced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, vanilla extract, sugar and lemon juice. Mix well to cover the apple slices in spices.

Set heat to low-medium.

Set heat to low-medium. Cook the apples and the rest of the ingredients for about 15 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remember to stir frequently so the syrupy apples don't stick to the bottom of the pot. 
Carefully transfer the mixture into a lightly oiled springform pan. Tap the pan a few times to even out the apple mixture.

Allow it to cool

Allow it to cool at room temperature for about one hour. Refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight. 
When ready, slowly release from the springform pan. I leave the vegan apple crumble on the base of the springform pan. This is to ensure the vegan apple pie doesn't collapse or break when moved to another plate. Although fully set, it is still a little fragile.

Mix the oats and

Mix the oats and the nuts in a blender and whizz until you get soft crumbs. Transfer to a bowl and using your fingers, mix the two together. The result will be a soft and slightly moist crumb. Decorate the vegan apple pie with the crumbs and add a few crushed freeze-dried raspberries for some extra decoration. 
Cover and keep refrigerated. Consume within 5 days.
