easy homemade focaccia

Our focaccia bread recipe is very simple to make &#8211; no fancy equipment is needed at all. The secret to the best focaccia is a great tasting olive oil. Since there is quite a bit used, the bread really takes on the flavor. You don&#8217;t need to spend lots of money, just use olive oil you love. For the herbs, we love a combination of thyme and rosemary, but you could use whatever herbs you love &#8211; fresh or dried. Or, omit the garlic and herbs all together and use plain olive oil instead. A note on pan size: In this recipe, we call for a 9-inch by 13-inch rimmed baking sheet. If you do not have this, you can use a 9-inch by 13-inch rimmed baking dish with taller sides.

Easy Rosemary Garlic Focaccia Bread

(120 ml) extra-virgin olive oil

garlic cloves, finely minced

thyme

rosemary

black pepper

(235 ml) warm water

active dry yeast (1 packet)

honey

(315 grams) all-purpose flour

fine sea salt

Superb outcome. Followed all the instructions and tips from the comments as well (the oil with garlic and herbs has to cool down before proceeding, also had to add an extra bit of flour while kneading the dough because it was very sticky). Sandwiches made using a press are absolutely amazing and i've also been using this as a pizza dough. Super happy. Thanks guys :)

This was my very first attempt at making bread and it came out so good, even though I completely forgot to add the salt. I will definitely be using this recipe again however next time I will remember all of the ingredients (ended up sprinkling some salt on the top when it came out of the oven to compensate). The danger with this recipe is having it last long enough to make sandwiches with, I love foccacia and could eat the whole loaf.

Wonderful recipe. I infused my olive oil overnight with the dried herbs I had on hand. I've always wanted to make this since purchasing a store bought one years ago. Everything went perfectly except I felt the need to add in about 1/4 cup more flour because my dough was still very wet. I also think this is the pizza bread recipe I've always looked for.

Fantastic foccacia recipe. So good that I'm making it a second time this week. I added mozarella cheese in the dough and sprinkled on top. Delicious.

So I'm not much of a baker, and certainly not a bread maker, so I was pretty shocked when this turned out really, really good.  I had to use expired instant yeast instead of active (welcome to the pandemic).  It was crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside.  My one comment is that sautéing the garlic for 5 to 10 minutes leads to it getting brown and crispy, then kind of bitter when baked on the outside of the bread...but I'm really happy with the recipe and will do again.  I put a pan of water in the oven because I think that helps crisp up the outside, but I'm not sure it contributed to the great outcome...having it with a braised lamp shoulder chop tonight...

This focaccia recipe is so damn good I’m doing something I rarely do: leave a recipe review! My partner said it was “without a doubt, hands down, the best focaccia I’ve ever had” and I have to agree. Perfect amount of chewy texture, not too dry, not too oily, so flavorful. I used dried herbs since I didn’t have fresh on hand, and I finished it with a sprinkle of course sea salt right before it went into the oven as some other reviewers mentioned and it. Is. Perfection! I just finished baking my first focaccia bread! The mixture of garlic, thyme and rosemary smell so good. Although my bread turned out too oily not the bread I would eat for an appetizer maybe next time I will reduced it to 1/4 cup instead. Thank you forthe recipe.

Super easy to make - I did however find the finished product to be a lot drier and crispier than Id hoped - I baked on convection at 425 for 17 mins. Next time I would use a smaller baking dish so that the loaf is thicker and then probably keep the temp/time the same.

Absolutely gorgeous, making it for the second time today I love it, I used mixed herbs instead of Thyme alone and self raising flour but was still perfect.

This is the quickest yummiest recipe for focaccia! Made my first batch using this recipe and I'm making my second. I didn't add the garlic and oil mixture, I added it on top with parmesan. My next batch I'm using pesto in the dough, fresh parmesan on top with thinly sliced tomatoes! A crowd favorite!
