Oatmeal doesn't have to be boring! This Strawberry Banana Oatmeal is ready in 5 minutes and sure to brighten up your otherwise average weekday morning!

Strawberry Banana Oatmeal

oats

water

light brown sugar

strawberries, (sliced)

banana

Add old-fashioned oats and water to a small bowl and place in the microwave for 1 minute and 40 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir.

Stir in the brown sugar, half the strawberries, and half the bananas. Top with remaining strawberries and bananas. You can also top with more brown sugar if you want!

This Gingerbread Oatmeal is the coziest breakfast option! Loaded with warming spices and real molasses, this is a hearty and delicious meal to wake you up! Stovetop, microwave and overnight oats instructions included below!

Gingerbread Oatmeal

quick rolled oats

whole milk (more if you

ginger

cinnamon

tsp nutmeg

cloves

tsp all spice

brown sugar

tbsp molasses

tsp pure vanilla extract

pecans (for garnish)

gingerbread man cookies (for garnish)

In a medium size pot, add 1 cup of oats with 2 cups of milk. Stir to combine. Place on stovetop and cook on low-medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. Stir every once in a while.

When it starts to thicken, place on low heat. Add in brown sugar, molasses, vanilla extract, and spices. Stir to combine. 

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on low heat to let it warm up with the spices.

Once your desired consistency is reached, taste and adjust if needed. Add additional sweetener, more spice etc. Add a splash or two more milk. if you prefer your oatmeal more thin. 

Dish out into bowls, garnish with nuts and cute gingerbread men! Eat while warm.

Halved this recipe since I was just looking for one serving, and it still came out delicious!! Perfect for a cozy fall or winter morning, will be making again!

Have made the microwave version of this and LOVE it. Substituted chopped dates for the sugar and molasses and used shredded coconut and slivered almonds to top. Devine. Perfect for a winter's day (July in NZ!)

Make your morning a little more delicious with a bowl of this hearty Date Nut Oatmeal! It&#039;s brimming with dates, nuts, brown sugar, and cream.

Date Nut Oatmeal

dates

Brown sugar; milk or cream (optional) (for serving)

Bring the water and salt to a boil.

Stir in the oats, pecans and dates.

Reduce heat to medium.

Cover and cook for 5 minutes, stirring once or twice.

Remove from heat and let stand for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Serve with a sprinkle of brown sugar or turbinado sugar and a splash of milk or half and half.

Sprinkle over additional dates and pecans if desired.

So yummy! I’m 39 weeks pregnant and was looking for date recipes on the internet. (They say dates encourage labor!) I cooked the oatmeal with half milk half water as I like it a bit creamy. I added a sprinkle of brown sugar and cinnamon to my bowl. Thank you for sharing! :)
