This Italian Stromboli is such an easy delicious way to feed a crowd, and it only has five ingredients! It&#039;s packed with spicy pepperoni, capicola, gooey mozzarella cheese,  store-bought pizza seasoning, and served with a jarred marinara if dipping is your thing. 

Italian Stromboli

Place dough on a large greased baking sheet. Cover with platic wrap. Let the dough defrost in the fridge for 6-8 hours or overnight. Remove from the fridge and let the dough sit for another hour or two before assembling. You can also use prepared pizza dough if you don&#039;t plan ahead, no worries!

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Lightly dust a large working surface as well as a rolling pin. Remove the dough from the baking sheet and roll out to a rectangle 8x13 inches long.

Layer the pepperoni on top of the dough. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the cheese. Layer the capicola on top followed by the remaining cheese. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of the pizza seasoning. Season with a little bit of salt and pepper.

Tightly roll up the dough, jelly-roll style. Tucks the ends over and pinch eveyrthing closed. (You can also brush the edges with egg wash to help them seal.

Re-spray the baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Transfer the stromboli to the pan. Brush with egg wash if using. Sprinkle with remaining pizza seasoning. Place in the oven and bake until golden brown and crisp, about 20 minutes. Wait 1-2 minutes before cutting into slices and serving.

This easy pepperoni Stromboli recipe is filled with meats, cheese, and pizza sauce.  You can use my homemade pizza dough recipe or store bought.  Either way, this makes a great appetizer or meal!

Easy Pepperoni Stromboli

Whisk yeast, sugar and warm water together in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment. Let it rest for 5 minutes.

Add in 2 cups of the flour and the salt. Knead until the dough comes together and cleans the side of the bowl. If more flour is needed, add 1/4 cup at a time.  The amount of flour needed will depend on temperature of your kitchen.

Place dough in a fresh large greased bowl, and cover with plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rise at room temperature until it is doubled in size, about 1 hour.

Pizza dough

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a floured surface, roll dough into a 10x14 inch rectangle.  Lightly flour the top of the dough to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin.

Spread pizza sauce on the top of the dough, leaving a 1.5 inch border around the outside.  Top pizza sauce with mozzarella cheese.  Top with hot capicola and pepperoni slices.

Whisk egg and water together in a small bowl.  Brush egg wash around stromboli border.  This will help the dough seal when you roll it.  Roll stromboli from it&#39;s long end, folding in the two sides as you go.

Carefully transfer stromboli to the baking sheet, seam side down.  Brush with egg wash and cut slits at the top of the stromboli so steam can escape.  Bake for 25 minutes, or until the center of the stromboli is 200°F (93°F).

Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before transferring to a cutting board and slicing.    Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

With just five ingredients, you can whip up our favorite easy lunch: Ham and Cheese Stromboli. We take frozen bread or pizza dough, layer it up with salty ham, gooey white American cheese, and then roll it up and bake. Cheesy and so delish.

Ham and Cheese Stromboli

lb good-quality deli black forrest ham

white american cheese (from the deli counter)

tsp dried basil,

egg + 1 tbsp water

If defrosting, pull out the bread dough the night before and follow instructions to defrost.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Lightly dust a large working surface as well as a rolling pin. Roll the dough out to a rectangle 8x13 inches long. Transfer the dough to the parchment covered baking sheet.

Lay ham across the dough. Layer cheese on top. Cover with another layer of ham. Sprinkle with basil. Season with a little bit of salt and black pepper.

Tightly roll up the dough, jelly-roll style. Tucks the ends over and pinch eveyrthing closed. (You can also brush the edges with egg wash to help them seal. Cut three slits in the top of the stromboli. Take a pastry brush and brush the top with egg wash. Sprinkle with more dried basil and plenty of salt and pepper.

Bake until golden brown and cooked through, about 25-30 minutes. Let the stromboli rest for 5 minutes before gently slicing with a serrated knife. Serve right away.

Spread dough on lightly floured surface.

Add pepperoni &amp; cheese.

Roll up and seal edges.

Brush with oil and sprinkle with Italian seasonings.

Place on a greased cookie sheet. Cover with a kitchen towel and let the dough rest for 20-30 minutes.

Bake at 350° for 20-25 or until golden brown.

Let cool slightly. Slice and serve with marinara sauce.
