Stuffed Mushrooms

Cooking spray,

baby mushrooms

butter

This is a great, easy, go-to recipe!  I used Alouette garlic & herbs spreadable cheese (we were out of plain cream cheese!) and it worked perfectly. Still used 2 TBSP of pre-minced garlic (garlic lovers) and used Panko bread crumbs as they hold the crunch better when toasted and subsequently baked.  I mixed in dried thyme from the pantry, and grated Cotija cheese on the top before popping them in the oven. Basically, we used whatever we had on hand, that closely resembled the recipe. Turned out wonderfully! Will make this dish as a top dinner starter for the fam & a side dish for potlucks/cookouts!

Made these for Christmas and everyone loved them. If I make them ahead of time and freeze them for our Super Bowl party, do you thaw them first or bake them from frozen?

These are amazing and so easy!!!  I made them for lunch a few days ago and they were so good I’m making them again for dinner tonight!

I don’t eat mushrooms but my husband loves this recipe, he said best he has had in a long time!😋

Delicious !!!!!! With leftover breading I always make a little more  I add some chicken broth. And spoon a little on top of the stuffed mushrooms and the remainder as a sauce

These mushrooms were amazing! Really easy instructions to follow.  I didnt have parmesan cheese and used gruyere cheese instead.  The turned out fantastic,  consistency wise. Small mushrooms worked the best with the ratio.  I highly recommend this recipe!

Best stuffed mushrooms I have ever tasted❣️ I used Baby Bella mushrooms, plain Panko breadcrumbs, all fresh ingredients as the recipe calls for and increased the amount of fresh Parmesan cheese. Made them last night and my husband is already anxious for another batch! 😋

Used this recipe as a base and did ground chicken. I used regular bread crumbs and added Italian seasoning salt and pepper parsley and dehydrated green onions. Cooked the meat with garlic and Braggs amino acids and a bit of avocado oil. Added the minced up mushroom stems. Once cooked up put in a bowl and added the dry mix and Parmigian. I didn't have cream cheese so added sour cream. WOW they turned out Amazing!!!

Cooked this as an appetizer for my husband's birthday party and it was a huge hit. This recipe is delicious.

Stuffed Mushrooms Are The BEST Appetizer

An easy and elegant recipe for Smoked Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms. Smoked sausage adds incredible flavor to this favorite holiday party appetizer.

Smoked Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

½ lb Italian style bulk pork sausage

cremini mushroom (remove stems, save and chop them

extra virgin olive oil

shallots, finely diced (about one large shallot)

garlic cloves, finely diced

sherry

Parmesan cheese

bread crumbs

parsley

salt

crème fraîche (can also sub whole fat Greek yogurt

Prepare Smoker

Preheat smoker to 225 degrees (we used pecan wood).

Smoke Sausage

Place bulk sausage spread out on a large foil-lined cookie sheet in small clumps. Smoke for approximately 60 minutes. Look for a darker color on the exterior while still moist. Remove and set aside.

Dice

When cool enough to handle, finely dice the sausage pieces. (Keep the smoker on)

To Smoke the Sausage:

Prep Mushrooms

Remove stems from the mushrooms, and slightly hollow the insides of the mushroom caps. Save the stems. Finely chop the mushroom stems for the filling. Coat the caps with olive oil and line them up on a baking sheet to prep for the filling.

Sauté

Preheat large skillet to medium heat. Add butter, shallots and the extra mushroom pieces, and sauté for about eight minutes until the color is golden and the mixture has softened.

Add Sherry

Add garlic and continue cooking for about two minutes. Add sherry and cook for one minute, then remove skillet from heat.

Add Sausage

To the skillet, add the smoked sausage pieces, Parmesan cheese, Panko, parsley, and crème fraiche into remaining mix in, and stir together. Place a heaping amount of filling into the mushroom caps and press firmly to pack in the mix, taking care to not break the mushroom caps. Line up the stuffed mushrooms on a wired baking sheet.

Stuff

Put the mushrooms into the smoker at 225 degrees for about 45 minutes or until the mushroom caps are soft. Remove and enjoy warm.
