Cut the block of halloumi into slices. Don't make them too thin - around half a centimetre thick is good. You can use a crinkle cutter to cut the halloumi if you'd like the fake 'grill lines'.

Place a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat, and add the slices of cheese in a single layer. Don't overcrowd the pan. Allow the cheese to cook for a few minutes without moving it - it will release some liquid, which will then cook off. When the excess liquid has evaporated, the underside of the cheese will turn golden brown fairly quickly. When it's cooked to your liking, turn each piece over, and repeat with the other side. The second side will brown more quickly, as the liquid has already been released.

Fried halloumi is best served immediately.

First you will need to slice the halloumi. Don&#39;t slice it too thin, otherwise it will fall apart and also be too dry. About 1cm/0.5 inch thick slices are best. We used a crinkle cutter for ours, give give those grill line effects.

Put the halloumi in a non-stick frying pan (no oil is needed). You need to cook it until it releases all the liquid and then that liquid evaporates. This will take about 2-3 minutes.

once all the liquid has gone it will leave a golden brown colour in the pan which is how you know the halloumi is ready to flip. The halloumi underneath will be the same golden colour.

This side of the halloumi will cook a lot quicker, as the liquid has already been released. It should only take about 1 minute this side.

Golden Halloumi with Honey and Thyme

olive oil

tbsp honey ((eyeball it), sub maple syrup)

thyme

chilli flakes ((red pepper flakes), optional)

Cut into 1 - 1.25cm / 0.4 - 0.5" slices, pat dry. Pan fry in the oil on medium high until golden, serve on pre-warmed plate, with optional finishes.

Abbreviated recipe:

Cut halloumi into 1-1.25 cm thick slices (0.4 - 0.5&quot;) (see Note 3). Place the slices on a paper towel and pat the surface dry.

Warm a serving plate. (Note 4)

Heat the oil in a non stick pan over medium high heat.

Fry - Carefully place the halloumi in the pan (I use my hands). Cook for 1 1/2 minutes or until the underside is golden. Shuffle if needed so they cook evenly.

Turn gently (I use a spatula + butter knife to guide) and cook the other side for 1 - 1/2 minutes until golden.

Transfer onto the serving plate.

Optional finishes - Working quickly, drizzle with honey, sprinkle with thyme and chilli flakes. I do full honey coverage for some slices, and for others just a drizzle.

Serve immediately, quick, before the halloumi goes squeaky! :) (Note: Honey on the plate is ideal for bread mopping)

Hot Honey Halloumi Wraps Recipe | Marion&#039;s Kitchen

Halloumi, sliced

tbsp Marion’s Kitchen Crispy Chilli oil

tbsp honey

flour tortillas

Tzatziki sauce

cucumber, finely grated

greek yogurt

lemon juice

salt

tbsp fresh mint, chopped, optional

Step 1

Start by making the tzatziki sauce: Place the cucumber on a towel and gently squeeze out a bit of the excess water. In a medium bowl, combine the cucumber, yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, salt, dill, and mint, if using. Chill until ready to use.

Step 2

Begin preparing the hot honey halloumi wraps by heating a frying pan over medium heat and add the Marion’s Kitchen Crispy Chilli Oil.

Step 3

Once hot, add the halloumi slices and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.

Step 4

While the halloumi is cooking, drizzle honey over the top and toss gently to coat. Allow the honey to caramelise slightly, giving the haloumi a sweet, sticky glaze.

Step 5

Toast the flour tortillas or flatbread until slightly crispy, then set aside.

Step 6

To assemble, spread a generous amount of the tzatziki sauce on each wrap.

Step 7

Place the crispy halloumi slices on top of the tzatziki sauce, then drizzle with any remaining hot honey and sprinkle with coriander and pomegranate seeds, serve immediately.
