Bangkok Margarita Cocktail Recipe

Combine the tequila, pineapple juice, and ginger liqueur in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass. Sprinkle the salt and pepper on top. With a hand grater, grate lime zest over the top of the drink. Tap the grater lightly to release the zest and oil into the drink.

Apple-Matzoh Kugel

2. Toss the apples with the brown sugar and orange juice, set aside in a medium bowl.

3. Break the matzoh into 2- to 3-inch pieces and soak in 1 cup of warm water until soft but not mushy. Set aside.

4. While the matzoh soaks, beat the eggs with a wire whisk in a large bowl until blended. Add the salt, sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, raisins, and apricots.

5. Squeeze the liquid from the softened matzoh and add the matzoh to the egg mixture with the apples. Stir the kugel well and pour into a lightly greased 2 1/2-quart casserole dish or a 10x14-inch pan. Dot the top of the kugel with the 4 tablespoons of butter.

6. Bake the kugel for 1 hour. Cover the top with foil if the top begins to become too brown early in the baking. Remove the kugel from the oven and cool to room temperature.

How to Make Apple Juice (With and Without Juicer)

There are three main ways that you can easily use to make homemade apple juice at home, including with a juicer, blender, or manually (machine free).If your apples are waxed, then you’ll first want to remove this. To do so, you can dip the apples in hot water with a splash of distilled vinegar (or ACV) for a few seconds, then rinse them with cold tap water. Alternatively, you can use some apple cider vinegar or white vinegar and a paper towel to wipe the apples then rinse them.

Clean and chop the apples, discarding the core with the seeds. Optionally peel the apples – though I don’t.

Add the apple pieces to your blender along with ½ cup or so of water (or even orange juice) – this will help the machine blend the apples into a smooth(-ish) juicy, pulpy consistency.  

If you want to get rid of the pulp, pour the apple juice into a nut milk bag or through a muslin cloth and manually squeeze it to squeeze out as much liquid as possible.You can optionally add some back into the juice if you want just a little pulp. Check the FAQs for more ways to use the leftover apple pulp.

Using a Blender

Wash, and chop the apples – removing the inner core/seeds – into pieces small enough to fit your juicer chute. Optionally peel the apples, though I don&#39;t.

Feed the apple pieces into your juicer, and voila! Save the apple pulp to use later (check FAQs).

Using a Juicer

Wash the apples if needed. Then grate them into a muslin/cheesecloth-lined bowl (or use a strainer).

Once grated, pull the cloth together, twist the top and wring it well/ squeeze by hand to remove as much juice from the apples as possible.To make the process simpler, freeze the grated apple overnight, then leave it to defrost at room temperature before squeezing the juice. When thawing, the apple will soften enough to make it easier to squeeze.

Squeezing the Juice Manually

This isn&#39;t a method I often use, as I prefer to use heat-free methods for the highest nutrition. However, the boiled method often makes for a higher volume of juice, AND it allows you to use lots of leftover apple scraps from other recipes, too (peels, cores, etc.)Gather your apple scraps and any additional washed thin apple slices – there&#39;s no need to core them as you’ll be straining all the pulp afterward anyway. However, feel free to do so if you want to use the pulp for applesauce.

Add the apples to a large pot and cover them with an inch of water (don’t add too much as it will dilute the juice. It is better to add more later if preferred than add too much now). Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high. Once the water boils, reduce to a simmer and cover with a lid, cooking for 25-30 minutes (stirring occasionally), or until the apples are very tender. 

Transfer the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, muslin cloth, or nut milk bag to strain. Next, use a spoon (or your hands when it’s cool enough to handle) to press/squeeze the remaining apple pulp to remove as much juice as possible. 

Taste and adjust the juice with more water/sweetener if preferred. Then, you can use the leftover apple pulp to mix/blend into homemade applesauce with a bit of cinnamon and sweetener. You can also &quot;water bath can&quot; this version of apple juice, though I haven’t tried. I recommend referring to professional guidelines. However, my previous experience would have me recommending a 10-minute processing time, leaving an inch headspace in the canning jars before processing.

Bonus: Boiling Method

Store: I recommend drinking homemade apple juice within 24 hours for the best flavor and nutrient levels. However, the leftover juice will last up to 5 days in the refrigerator in an airtight container. It will brown over time as it oxidizes. To increase the shelf life of the homemade apple juice then you can pasteurize the juice.Freeze: freeze any leftover apple juice as quickly as possible for optimal nutrient retention. I recommend doing so in ice-cube trays for &quot;portioned&quot; juice. You can store the juice in the freezer for several months (4-6). You can then add the apple juice ice cubes to other drinks, smoothies, and slushies - or allow them to thaw in the fridge first.

Juicer Method

Wash and slice the peaches in halves or quarters.

Transfer the fruit to your blender with the water and blend until smooth and juicy.If you don’t mind the thick consistency, you can enjoy the juice as is. Otherwise, pour it through a fine-mesh strainer or nut milk bag to remove the excess pulp.You can also follow this method by placing the peaches and water in a large jug and using an immersion blender. Though it won&#39;t be as smooth.

Blender Method

Follow either of the methods above to make the peach juice recipe. Then, add your sweetener of choice and the acid to taste.I recommend starting with just ½ tablespoon of sugar per cup of juice and a squeeze of lime (maybe ½-1 tsp). Then increase to taste.

How to Make Peach Nectar?

Store: this peach juice is best enjoyed immediately for optimal nutrients and freshness. However, you can store it in a covered bottle or jar in the fridge for 1-2 days. With the addition of sugar and an acid, which are natural preservatives, the peach nectar will usually last slightly longer (2-3 days). Just note that without the acid, peaches naturally oxidize. Freeze: you can freeze the peach juice either in an XL ice cube tray or within freezer-safe jars or Ziplock bags. I like to separate mine into single-cup portions. Freeze for 3 months. Allow it to thaw in the refrigerator overnight before consuming or blend from frozen with a bit of liquid for a simple peach slushy.

How to make fresh-squeezed orange juice at home using one of three methods. This sugar-free orange juice (with pulp or without) uses just one ingredient and is packed with healthy vitamins and wonderful alone or as part of a juice blend!

How to Make Orange Juice

oranges (common, navel, Valencia, tangerines, clementines, satsuma, blood orange, etc.)

Prepare the oranges by first peeling them. Then, chop them into smaller parts to fit your juicer chute.

Feed a few into your juicer chute at a time- voila.

With A Juicer

Peel the oranges and , optionally, remove and discard the seeds (if you&#039;re going to strain the juice then this isn&#039;t necessary).

Add the orange segments to a blender. You can add a little water to help them blend if needed (1/4 cup should be more than enough not to water it down too much).

Blend into a juicy, pulp consistency. Then sieve the resulting pulpy juice through a sieve or nut milk bag or alternatively if you like orange juice with pulp (for more nutrients too) then leave it as is.

With A Blender

This probably doesn't need much of an explanation. If you have a lemon/orange juicer at home simply chop the fruit in half, place it over the juicer, press down, and squeeze while rotating back and forth to get as much juice out as possible.

For orange juice with pulp, just spoon some directly out from the remaining orange (after squeezing the juice out) and add to your glass.

With A Handheld Juicer

Orange pulp can also be frozen into an ice-cube tray for later usage- within smoothies, broths, or baked goods. Alternatively, the pulp can be composted.

Collect the mango flesh. I like using the glass method by washing and slicing the mango in half, then running each half along the side of a glass to scoop out the flesh.Use a spoon to scrape up any remaining fruit from the peel and from around the mango seed, too.

Transfer the mango and water to a blender/food processor and blend until smooth. You can add more water if preferred until you reach your desired flavor and consistency. Then transfer to the serving glasses of your choice and enjoy!If you’d prefer a smoother juice (or it has a lot of fiber), you can strain it through a sieve to remove any remaining fibrous pulp. Use a spatula to help make the straining process faster by moving around the juice in the sieve.

Store: fresh mango juice is best enjoyed immediately. However, store any leftovers in an airtight bottle/jar in the fridge for an additional 2-3 days.Freeze: rather than freezing the prepared juice/mango nectar, I recommend freezing just the blended mango puree (especially a good idea when mangoes are in season!). That way, you can add it to various recipes or allow it to thaw and blend with water for the juice. Pour the pulp into an ice cube tray until solid, transfer to a reusable Ziplock, and freeze for up to 3 months.

In your blender container, combine the fruit, water, lime juice, sweetener and optional mint leaves. Purée until smooth using the smoothie feature. Taste and, if necessary, add more lime and/or sweetener, then blend briefly again.

This sounds so good! What a fun way to hydrate. This would be a great non-alcoholic beverage for a party, too. Although I'm sure you could spike it with something and end up very happy.

My boyfriend is from mexico and loves agua fresca but its usually too sweet for me when we are out but I thought I'd give it a try at home where I can control the amount of sugar. Your recipe is so simple, I just went to the fridge, grabbed some strawberries and lime, then in 2 minutes we were drinking agua fresca! I am so excited! It will be a great non-alcoholic alternative to my poolside margaritas during the summers here in Arizona...and a good option for spiked agua frescas when the occasion calls for it. Thanks!

Crazy about aqua fresca! I made this the other day and it was so delicious. Everyone loved it even the texture-sensitive husband.
Instead of lime juice, I suggest pulsing a diced whole lime and a cup or two of water first though, then straining through a sieve and using this with the rest of the recipe. The skin gives it just the right little bit of bitter.

Summertime Aguas Frescas

Make your own strawberry juice at home this summer with sweet seasonal berries! All you need are strawberries, lemon juice, and water.

Strawberry Juice

Add the strawberries, lemon juice, water, and maple syrup (if using) to a small food processor or immersion blender mixing cup.

Blend on high speed until very smooth. Strain through a nut milk bag into a jar or other container and serve immediately or refrigerate for later. This will keep for up to 4 days in the fridge.

How to Make Grape Juice (5 Methods)

Rinse and de-stem the grapes, removing any broken/shriveled ones (or ones that appear under or overripe) as you go.

Step 1: Prepare the Grapes

Simply transfer the washed grapes to the chute of your juicer and allow it to do all the work for you.The machine will naturally strain the pulp and seeds, so the juice is immediately ready to use (or freeze).

With a Juicer

Transfer the grapes (in batches if necessary) to your food processor or blender and puree until as smooth as you can get (this may take up to 2 minutes).

If you don’t mind a pulpy juice, enjoy it immediately as is. Otherwise, strain the juice through a sieve/nut milk bag first.It may help with the blending to add a small amount of water to the jug (start with ½ cup of water).

With a Food Processor/ Blender

Transfer the washed grapes to a large bowl or container.I recommend using a flat bottom container (like a saucepan shape) to make the mashing easiest and get into all the corners.

Using the potato masher, mash the grapes as much as possible into a fine pulp to release the grape juice.

Pour the juice through a strainer or nut milk bag to strain it from the pulp.For a higher juice yield: mash the grapes in a large, heavy-based saucepan. Then, after step 2, gently simmer the mixture of medium to medium-low heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring and mashing occasionally (this step softens the grapes to make them more easily mashable). Then strain the mixture through a sieve or nut milk bag.

Using a Potato Masher

Working in batches, add your grapes to the nut milk bag and squeeze with your hands, using your fingers to help crush and work the grapes to extract the juice.To help extract more juice, you could first place the grapes in a large Ziplock bag and bash them with a rolling pin or similar heavy tool. Then transfer them to the nut milk bag to finish the squeezing process.

The Nut Milk Bag Method

Add all the washed grapes to a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan and add just enough water to cover the grapes.

Heat over medium-high heat until the water boils, then immediately reduce it to a gentle simmer for around 10 minutes, or until the skins start to burst and the liquid is a deep purple (if using red/purple grapes). Make sure to stir the grape mixture occasionally and gently mash the grapes with your spoon.

Allow the mixture to cool slightly before straining through a sieve or nut milk bag, pushing/squeezing the grape to extract as much juice as possible.You could also leave it overnight to naturally drain (in the refrigerator) and then do a second quick strain in the morning.

The Stove Top Method

To store in the refrigerator: to consume the maximum nutrients from the juice, it’s best to enjoy it immediately. However, homemade grape juice will last 5-7 in airtight jars/jugs in the refrigerator.After that, it will begin to ferment (still edible, but will turn sourer and have some carbonation). When left too long, the juice will become vinegar.Can you freeze grape juice? While it&#39;s technically possible, the thawed juice tends to lose quite a bit of flavor, so it isn&#39;t something I recommend.
