The gin gimlet is a classic cocktail made of lime juice and gin. Here's an easy recipe for this refreshing drink that takes only 5 minutes to make!

Gin Gimlet

(4 tablespoons) gin

(1 tablespoon) lime juice

Splash of soda water (optional)

Add gin, lime juice, and syrup to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until cold.

Strain into glass and top with a splash of soda water, if desired. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve.

A classic emerging from the British Royal Navy after the development of Rose&#39;s Lime Cordial, the Gimlet has withstood the test of time.  You can use pretty much any gin you like (or, gasp, even vodka), but if you want your drink to be seaworthy we do recommend you choose a bottle of navy strength gin.

Add all ingredients to your trusty mixing glass.

Add ice and stir to chill.

Strain into pre-chilled cocktail glass.

Drink.

Rinse and repeat.
