Ginger Shots (Better Than Store Bought!)

ginger root

lemon juice (from 3-4 lemons)

coconut water

cayenne pepper

Add Ingredients

Place all ingredients in the pitcher of your high-powered blender.

Blend

Put the lid on the blender, and process until the ginger and lemon juice mixture is smooth.

Strain

Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh strainer.

Press

Press on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much juice as possible.

Serve

Pour the strained liquid into shot glasses and drink all at once.

These 4 ingredient ginger shots boost immunity, sooth upset stomachs, speed metabolism and spike energy. Made with fresh ginger and lemons, they are full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits and the ginger shot recipe is easy to make in a blender, juicer or jar.

Ginger Shots Recipe

(50 grams) fresh ginger root

(120 grams) lemon juice

(60 grams) water ((or use coconut water

cayenne pepper ((or ground black pepper))

(60 grams) orange juice

(60 grams) pineapple juice (Use this is instead of 1/4 cup water)

(60 grams) lime juice

(60 grams) cherry juice (Use this is instead of 1/4 cup water)

turmeric powder

apple cider vinegar

fine mesh sieve

lemon juicer

shot glasses

glass straws

cork bottles

wash and chop ginger

Wash fresh ginger root as you would a potato, with water and a cloth to scrub off debris. Then chop fresh ginger into chunks, just small enough to blend.

squeeze 4 lemons or measure juice

Squeeze 4 lemons to gather 1/2 cup of lemon juice, or measuring it out from a bottle of pure organic lemon juice.

Prep

add to blender or juicer

Add all ingredients to a blender or use a juicer. Blend or juice the chopped ginger, lemon juice, water and pepper.

How to Make Ginger Shots

If you used a blender, pour the blended mixture through a strainer into a measuring cup.

With a spoon or spatula, push the mixture through a strainer until the pulp is fairly dry and you have captured most of the juice from the blended mixture.

Freeze pulp

Freeze the pulp in ice cube trays and add it to smoothies and soups for extra nutrition and fiber.

To Use a Blender

Pour out the liquid into two glasses and drink one ginger shot and refrigerate the other for tomorrow.

How to Drink

This recipe makes about 1/2 cup. It can be stored in the refrigerator for a week but declines in potency with each day.

Make in bulk and freeze ginger shots in ice cube trays. Then add a cube to a glass the night before, let is thaw refrigerated, then add a bit of water to it and down the shot.

Ginger Shots

Ginger shots are THE SHIT. As more and more information is uncovered about ginger and its multiple health benefits, it is quickly becoming a healthy diet staple. These homemade ginger shots contain a variety of healthy ingredients and have no added sugars. Ginger shots are easy to make and store in your fridge or freeze into ice cubes and use later!

lemons (juiced)

orange (peeled)

tbsp honey

cayenne

water (optional)

Wash the ginger thoroughly. Leave the peel on and slice it into thin pieces.

Add all of the ingredients except for the water into a food processor and blend on high until the mixture is pureed and smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add the water and puree again.

Line a colander with a cheesecloth and position it over a bowl. Pour the ginger puree into the cheesecloth and drain out the liquid.

Pour the strained liquid into 4 different shot glasses. Reserve or enjoy immediately!

SCRUB THE GINGER AND 

CUT THE PINEAPPLE INTO CHUNKS. Scrub the ginger with your hands or a vegetable scrubber brush. You don&#8217;t even need to peel it! Remove the top and the skin of the pineapple as well as the core, then cut it into chunks.

BLEND AND STRAIN THE GINGER AND PINEAPPLE

 Break the ginger into small pieces. If you have a small blender and need to blend in batches like me, blend some pineapple and a little bit of water with the ginger. This will give the ginger the push it needs to begin blending. You&#8217;ll have more pineapple than ginger; so, blend the remainder of the pineapple. Then over a large bowl, press the juice through the fine mesh strainer using a rubber spatula. You can also use your favorite large blender or juicer!

JUICE THE LEMONS AND STIR IN WITH THE COCONUT WATER

Freshly squeeze the lemons using either your hands or a citrus hand squeezer/juicer. Combine the lemon juice and coconut water with the pineapple and ginger juice mixture. Enjoy your new favorite healthy drink! 🍍🥥🍋
