Spiced Roasted Cauliflower

cauliflower head

water

tahini (or extra virgin olive oil

lemon, juiced

garlic powder

thyme (or dry oregano)

salt

cumin powder

paprika powder

turmeric powder

½ teaspoon ground pepper

Grilled / Marinated Tofu

Preheat the oven to 400ºF or 200ºC.

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, but the cauliflower, until well combined.

Trim the base of the cauliflower to remove any green leaves and the stem.

Make small cuts in the cauliflower head and then rub the marinade all over the cauliflower, allowing some of it to come inside of it.

Place onto an aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.

Remove from the oven and open the aluminum foil and place back in the oven uncovered to allow the top side to become golden brown.

like to add the remaining juices in the aluminum foil on top of it once I have cut it in quarters.

These ginger miso cauliflower steaks are bursting with flavour and so easy to make! A great vegan or vegetarian main meal.

Ginger Miso Cauliflower Steaks and the Tefal Optigrill

cauliflower

brown miso paste

Heat a griddle pan or electric grill machine (like a Tefal or Geroge Foreman).

Mix the miso paste and ginger in a small bowl and set aside.

Slice the head of cauliflower into ½ inch thick steaks.

Brush the cauliflower steaks with the ginger miso paste.

If using an electric grill, place the cauliflower steaks onto the grill and cook for a few minutes until tender. Brush one side with the ginger miso paste and cook for a minute or so more until the sauce begins to caramelize.

If using a griddle pan, heat the pan until hot. Place the cauliflower steaks onto the griddle and cook until that side is slightly charred. Turn the cauliflower steaks over when the first side is done and cook the other side until nearly cooked and the steaks are tender.

Grilled Cauliflower Recipe

Clean and heat grill to medium or about 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a mixing bowl combine spices and olive oil. Add cauliflower florets and mix until combined.

Place grill pan on grill and spread cauliflower out evenly on the pan.

Close grill and cook for about 20 minutes or until cauliflower is crisp tender.

I just quarter the cauliflower and lay the pieces straight on the grill, turning when I turn my steaks.

I love roasted or grilled cauliflower. It really brings out such a great flavor! We're going to be making this one a LOT!

Transform your cauliflower into something special with a wonderful blend of spices and a bit of char. Grilled Cauliflower is an easy healthy side dish for any meal, ready in 15 minutes. The trick to this recipe is using a grill basket - my favorite BBQ tool.

Easy Grilled Cauliflower (15-Minute Florets)

olive oil (or vegetable oil)

cumin

coriander

smoked paprika

green onions

HEAT GRILL to medium high heat. Spray a grill basket with oil, Note 1.

PREPARE CAULIFLOWER: Remove outer leaves of cauliflower, cut out core, then cut cauliflower into florets. The smaller the pieces, the faster they will cook. In a large mixing bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.  Add florets and toss to coat evenly. If the cauliflower seems a little dry, add a touch more oil.  Place seasoned cauliflower in grill basket.

GRILL CAULIFLOWER: Grill for 10-15 minutes in total, depending on how soft you like your cauliflower and how large the florets are. Stir occasionally.

SERVE: Transfer to serving dish.  Squeeze lemon juice (about 1/4 lemon) over  cauliflower and sprinkle over chopped green onions and parsley if desired. Or drizzle with a sauce, Note 3.
