Transport yourself straight to a tropical island with this guava cocktail spiked with pineapple-infused rum! It's sweet, tangy, refreshing and always a hit at parties and holidays.

Guava Rum Cocktail

½ oz pineapple-infused rum

½ oz Cointreau or other orange liqueur

¾ oz freshly squeezed lime juice

oz guava juice/nectar

For garnish: citrus slices

If making homemade pineapple-infused rum, follow the instructions in this post. 

To make cocktail, fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add all ingredients and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds. 

Pour into a chilled glass or a glass filled with ice. Garnish with fresh lime or lemon. Enjoy!

grapefruit juice

pineapple juice

guava nectar

triple sec

tequila blanco

Add lime juice, grapefruit juice, pineapple juice, guava nectar, triple sec, and tequila to a cocktail shaker with one large ice cube. Shake well.

Strain and pour in a highball glass filled with ice.

Garnish with lime wedge and a grapefruit twist, if desired.

ice, for wet shake

edible flowers, for garnish- optional

For the dry shake: In a cocktail shaker (or large glass jar that can be fitted with a lid), add in the tequila, guava nectar, coconut rum, lemon juice, agave, and egg white. Cover the shaker/glass with lid. Shake vigorously for a few seconds (I like to shake for 10 seconds).

For the wet shake: Add a handful of ice into the shaker/glass, cover, and shake again super vigorously for another few seconds.

Strain the guava tequila sour over a fine mesh sieve into a cocktail glass. Garnish the drink with edible flowers, if desired. Sip, sip&#8230;enjoy! 

So delicious! I have not made many cocktails in my life, but this sounded so good that I made it and really enjoyed it! It was perfect for summer time - cool and refreshing and not overly sweet. I made this bcz I’ve been trying to spice up  my routine cocktail recipe collection, and I’m so happy I did!  I had never tried guava nectar, or made my own egg white cocktail, and it ended up being so easy to do both!  I found a can of guava nectar in the Hispanic section of my grocery store.  And after separating out the egg white, you don’t have to froth it separately - just throw it in with the rest of the ingredients and shake. I loved the suggestion to use a mason jar, since our cocktail shaker had just broken. Will definitely make this again!  And it will be an easy way to impress guests ;)
