Homemade Healthy Nutella (Just 4 Ingredients!)

Cup Roasted, Peeled and Unsweetened Hazelnuts (See Note 1)

¼ Cup Warm Water

¼ Cup Cacao Powder (can sub cocoa powder)

¼ Cup Pure Maple Syrup (or more to taste, See Note 2) (can sub coconut sugar)

Tbs Water if needed (See Note 2)

Optional: ¼ tsp Maca Powder

Healthy Nutella Smoothie

500 ml Skimmed milk

Large banana

tbsp Homemade Nutella

Cocoa powder

Put all the ingredients in to a high powered blender and blend until smooth

Divide between two glasses and top with whipped cream (optional)

More like a milkshake than a smoothie, it is just 4 ingredients and we have included the recipe for our homemade healthier Nutella too. This recipe is quick, easy and healthy. Whilst I still don’t recommend eating all of this in one sitting, we have come up with a Homemade Healthier Nutella, which is just as delicious.

Homemade Healthier Nutella

200 g Hazelnuts ((you could use any nuts you have))

tsp Vanilla extract

Milk

Pitted dates

Water

tbsp Maple syrup

Put the hazelnuts in a food processor and process on the highest speed for 10-15 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl at regular intervals, until you have a smooth nut butter.

Meanwhile, place the dates in a bowl with the boiling water and leave to soak for 10 minutes.

Add the dates and water, along with the remaining ingredients to the food processor with the hazelnut butter. Process the mixture on high until it is smooth. Transfer to a jar and store for up to 1 week in the fridge.

Traditional Nutella contains a ton of processed sugars and unhealthy fats that you should try to avoid. But this super healthy Nutella recipe is sugar-free, vegan, and loaded with antioxidants thanks to one very special ingredient- cacao powder! Plus, its so simple to make!

Homemade Sugar-free Nutella

hazelnut milk

Spread hazelnuts in a baking tray and roast for 10-15 minutes depending on how powerful your oven is. Watch them closely to make sure they don&#8217;t burn.

Remove hazelnuts from the oven. In order to achieve smooth Nutella, the skin needs to be removed from the hazelnuts.* 

Transfer the warm, peeled hazelnuts to a food processor or high-speed blender and blend until very smooth. You will likely have to stop and scrape the sides of your container a few times before the butter is really smooth.

Add the cacao powder, vanilla, salt and dairy-free milk and blend again until well combined.

Slather some of this healthy, sugar-free nutella on a piece of toast, your favourite pancakes, or eat it straight from the jar with a spoon like I do! The possibilities are endless, so enjoy however you please!
