healthy spinach dip

Creamy spinach dip is always a hit, whether it&#39;s served in a bread bowl, or with crisp crackers, or celery sticks. It&#39;s easy to make your own!

Spinach Dip (from scratch or with seasoning mix)

pkg. (12 oz.) frozen spinach,

carrots

¼ cups 2% plain Greek yogurt or sour cream

mayonnaise

(8 oz.) sliced water chestnuts, drained and chopped

green onions, finely chopped ((both green and white parts))

dry onion flakes ((see notes))

salt

parsley

thyme

celery seed

black pepper

garlic powder

Add all ingredients to a medium sized mixing bowl. Mix well. For best flavor, cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Serve

Transfer to a serving bowl and serve with crackers, rye, pumpernickel, or pita bread.

Healthier Spinach Dip - Two Ways

bag frozen cut leaf spinach (thawed and squeezed of excess liquid)

cottage cheese

extra virgin olive oil

onion powder

tortillas chips, fresh red pepper sticks

red bell pepper (garnish)

all ingredients above

Parmesan cheese

Blend cottage cheese with the onion, garlic, pepper and olive oil in a blender &nbsp;until smooth.&nbsp;

Pour cheese mixture into a medium mixing bowl. Add the spinach. Stir in the spinach until well combine. Add to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped red bell peppers if desired.&nbsp;

Serve with tortilla chips or fresh red bell pepper strips for scooping.
