Made this tonight and it was amazing. To make it a little more Keto friendly I didn't add the carrots and I served it over cauliflower rice. Next time I am going to add some mushrooms and some other veggies 💚 So good!

This was outstanding! I had some cooked ground pork on hand, picked up some shredded carrots, coleslaw cabbage mix; substituted Maggi seasoning and Tabasco when I discovered out of soy sauce and Sriracha. Served it with red quinoa which was tasty mixed together. There were no left overs;-)

I doubled mine and cooked it in my wok.  I added shiitake mushrooms and cashews and skipped the Sriracha.  It seemed bitter to me so I added a couple of packets of sweetener and that fixed it right up. I also used a couple of bags of coleslaw mix to make it quicker.

This was good, but it did feel like it was missing something taste-wise. I'm going to try some of the suggested additions in the comments next time.

My husband will absolutely love this. I read through the reviews and noticed people mentioning the crunch, might I suggest as I will be doing is buying the wonton strips in the pre-made salad section. A variety of different flavors and my husband is a fan. Thank you for sharing this, I will post again when I make it.

If you enjoy egg rolls and don't want the mess or hassle of frying them and/or you want to go low carb you DEFINITELY need to try this recipe! I used a bag of pre cut cabbage and used chicken sausage instead of pork and kept everything else in the recipe exactly the same and it was DELICIOUS. Personally I felt like it was even better the second day. However, my boyfriend did not agree he loved it the first day just as much as the second day!!

This was INSANELY salty! Calls for way too much soy sauce. It was so salty it was inedible. We’ll def make it again but with like a 1/4 of what the recipe calls for in soy sauce.

It was too salty and lacked flavor.  Soy sauce is not enough to highlight the pork especially if you are trying to forgo the carbs.  I recommend reducing the soy sauce and adding more seasoning to make the pork flavorable.

really like this recipe,used liquid aminos in place of soy sauce, ommited pork (don't eat meat) but added edamame in place a few min after cabbage and cooked bit longer till cabbage softened.  Delish !

I made this true to the recipe, without any alterations and it is amazing!!!  Anyone that is lacking flavor in their finished dish, did not follow the recipe correctly - it is bursting with flavor!!!  We loved it, crave it and I’m making it again for dinner tonight - following the recipe exactly, of course.  IT IS ABSOLUTELY DELISH!!!!

Chicken fried rice is the comfort dish of Chinese food. This classic take on the favorite is easy to make and makes the perfect lunch or dinner. 

Chicken Fried Rice

olive oil

chicken breasts (about 1 1/2 lb.)

Kosher salt

black pepper

onion,

tbsp. ginger

c. cooked white rice (preferably leftover)

c. frozen peas

eggs,

tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce

green onions, thinly sliced

I grilled the chicken in advance and used a tiny dash of five spice powder and also some white pepper to jazz up the flavor. This also goes well with leftover pork tenderloin or steak in place of the chicken. Try to use sticky rice from a rice cooker and keep the mixing in the wok to avoid adhesion to the pan. A very delicious dish for all seasons 🙃

I love chicken fried rice and this was a great recipe to finally try and make it at home. Very easy and quick to make and everyone loved it and said was better than what we get at the restaurant.
I think next time I will add some pineapple and red pepper flakes to kick up the heat. Thanks for the great video and yes you definitely need a bigger pan.:-)

Really, really good. I used some leftover turkey I had from Christmas that was sitting in the freezer instead of chicken, plus I added some bell peppers and mushrooms for extra veggies. I knew that all the ingredients wouldn’t fit in a pan, so I made it in a large pot. Will be making this again!

I just made two batches of this to share with both my daughters’ families.  It was a huge hit.   So fresh and tasty.  Definitely will make it again with shrimp.   Thank you.

This was great! I made free and easy with which veggies I used, but I think that it would work with any combination. It is definitely going to become my fall back fried rice recipe!

Very bland even after adding more soy sauce. Calls for way too much rice. Had to do half of that.

Whenever we go to Asian Restaurants my husband orders fried rice dishes.  Not sure why it took me so long to try it at home.  We're minimizing our grocery trips so I used some high quality canned chicken I get at Costco, skipped the peas, and unfortunately had to use ginger powder but still it turned out great.  The directions are very clear and it tasted just as we expected.  I can see lots of options for substitutions which will make this a nice dish in our rotation.

Easy, quick and delicious! I had thawed a pork chop and used that instead of chicken.  Will make this again - my best recommendation.

I loved this recipe so much, I took tortilla shells, filled it with the chicken fried rice, rolled it up enchilada style and put it in a baking dish. Poured a can of cream of chicken soup over it, then baked it for 35 minutes at 350. It was perfect! And the leftover enchiladas were put into baggies with a spoonful of the gravy over them and frozen. Easy to reheat as needed. Since I live alone, making a meal for four leaves plenty of leftovers. These are great!

Anyone else cringe at the size of that pan? LoL

Reduce the amount of soy sauce, omit lime juice.  The lime juice creates an odd taste.  I found this recipe to soy salty and hated the lime flavour...

The meal was great. Easy to prep. You can also add white onions or other vegetables such as carrots, baby corn etc. Also if you feel the soy sauce is too much at 1/2 cup. Go ahead and do 1/4. I felt it was too and all I did was add like 1/4 cup water while everything was sizzling in the pan. 😉

We loved this recipe and are making it for the third time since the pandemic began. We love all of the vegetables! We use Bragg’s aminos instead of soy sauce and potato starch (resistant starch) instead of corn starch and it tastes delicious! We are also adding mung bean sprouts and asparagus this time!

I thought the soy sauce was fine, but I would cut the sugar in half, add another 1-2 cloves of garlic, and up the pepper flakes. It was still good as-is though.

I made this w/ less soya sauce. 1/3 a cup. Also added some chopped up parsley and mint. At the end I threw in some cashews and a hint of cayenne and turmeric. Overall, delicious!

I made this today and added onion. I never add sugar because of my allergy to it. Oh i added zucchini because it is in season. My hubby has said at least 4 times during dinner..."this is good!" Definitely making this again.

OMG! I just tried this tonight. Fabulous! My husband absolutely loved it. The only changes I made was to use 1/4c soy sauce, 1/4c chicken broth and omit the salt. I will be making this again with various protein options.

This easy recipe from Delish.com makes for some quick and delicious homemade wontons.

Wonton Soup

Chives,

tsp. rice wine vinegar

grated ginger

garlic

square wonton wrappers

chicken broth

I tried this to the letter the first time (it was good!) and the second, I altered it to my specific tastes and I am super pleased with it! 

For the broth I used mushroom broth and a small box of chicken bone broth. 

I halved the ginger and tripled the garlic, cause I love it. Lol 

I also added Wood Ear mushrooms to it, they are my favorite from hot pot soups.

Great recipe! Used up whole pack of wonton wrappers (30 pieces) I added extra cup of stock and 2 cups water as I didn’t think would be enough broth. Added baby carrots and Bok Choy. Really happy with results. Only filled 1/2 teaspoon of pork mixture, next time will fill more.

I made this last night, it was terrific. I cheated a little and used frozen potstickers. Also, I did not remove the garlic and ginger, it added a nice bright flavor. I added baby bok choy.

I made these to the letter on the filling , but added a few more ingredients and accidentally added a tsp of red pepper flakes , instead of 1/2 tsp, but they came out great! Just the right spice for me. Also added spinach, mushrooms, and more white wine vinegar to broth. Plus cilantro and chives!

Delicious and so quick and easy if you have on hand a few items from fresh groceries and pantry.  Make the wontons the day before using and either refrigerate or freeze.  Add a couple of minutes to cooking time if you freeze wontons.  So so good! Gin Bell

Takeaway Classic at Home

150 gram Prawns Peeled and deveined prawns/shrimp

Egg Whisk and season

Green peas About ½ cup

Carrot Cut into small dice

½ Onion Cut into small dice

Garlic Finely chopped

Cooking oil Neutral flavour oil

tsp Soy sauce Regular soy sauce

Shao Xing wine Chinese cooking rice wine

tsp Corn starch Or potato starch

¼ tsp White pepper powder Or black pepper

tbsp Soy sauce Regular soy sauce

Chicken powder Chilli bouillion powder or Msg

tsp Sesame oil Toasted sesame oil

½ tsp White pepper powder Or black pepper

Prepare rice

Fluff the rice gently by using your hand or spoon. Make sure to break up the clumps to separate the grains to prevent it from getting sticky.

Prepare ingredients

Marinate prawns

Season the prawns with soy sauce, Shao Xing wine, white pepper, and corn starch. Mix it well and set it aside.

Stir fry aromatics and vegetables

Heat the large wok or pan over medium-high heat. Drizzle oil, add onions and follow with the chopped garlic. Next, add carrot and stir fry for a few seconds.

Cook prawns and eggs

Then add the marinated prawns and cook for 1-2 minutes then push the prawns to one side of the pan. Drizzle more oil in the pan and add the whisked egg. Let it set for a few seconds and break the egg into small pieces.

Add remaining ingredients

Add char siu and green peas and continue stir fry for a few seconds.

Combine rice and seasonings

Now add the rice and seasoning ingredients, soy sauce, white pepper, chicken powder, and sesame oil. Combine everything well and stir fry for 1-2 minutes.

Finish and serve

Finish with spring onions and make a final quick toss. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
