Homemade Granola Recipe

oats

whole almonds¹ ((125 grams))

dried cranberries² ((160 grams))

Tablespoons ground flax seed (optional)

honey ((80 milliliters))

⅓ cup canola or vegetable oil ((80 milliliters))

brown sugar (firmly packed (100 grams))

vanilla extract

cinnamon

salt

Preheat oven to 275F (135C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Set aside.

In a large bowl, stir together oats, almonds, cranberries, and flax seed.

In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, oil, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.

In a separate, smaller bowl, whisk egg white until frothy (about 30 seconds) then stir into the honey mixture.

Pour wet ingredients over dry ingredients and use a spatula to stir well until all dry ingredients are completely coated.

Evenly spread ingredients over prepared baking sheet. Transfer to 275F (135C) preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes. Granola should have slightly darkened in color and should appear dry.

Remove from oven and do not stir, allow to sit undisturbed until completely cooled.

Once granola has cooled, use your hands or a wooden spoon to break up into pieces. Use as desired.

Ingredients

How to Make Homemade Granola

This peach almond granola combines crunchy sliced almonds, dried peaches, oats, and spices for a fragrant, slightly sweet taste of summer any time of year.

Easy Peach Almond Granola

almond butter

T avocado or olive oil

maple syrup (based on desired sweetness)

½ t vanilla extract

¼ t ground cinnamon

⅛ t ground ginger

old fashioned oats

almonds

peaches

Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a glass mixing bowl, combine almond butter, coconut oil, and maple syrup. Microwave 30-45 seconds to slightly warm and loosen the mixture. Stir in vanilla, cinnamon, ginger and salt until smooth. Mix in the oats and sliced almonds.

Transfer mixture to the prepared baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes.

Add the dried peaches and bake for another 5 minutes.&nbsp;

Let cool completely. Store in a sealed jar. Crunch on this double almond granola by the handful, on a smoothie bowl or with yogurt.

This homemade is perfect for breakfast...or snacking!

Cardamom Honey Granola

oats ((1/2 pound))

whole, raw almonds ((2 ounce))

light brown (or unrefined sugar) ((2 ounces))

black cardamom

unsalted butter ((6 tablespoons / 3/4 stick))

mild-flavored honey ((2 ounces))

sea salt (yes, 1 teaspoon)

unsalted pistachios, lightly toasted ((2 ounces))

Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 325º. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Have a second rimmed baking sheet and piece of parchment ready.

Combine the oats, almonds, sugar, and ground cardamom together in a large bowl. In a small saucepan, melt together the butter, honey and salt, stirring to dissolve the salt. Pour over the oat mixture, tossing to combine thoroughly.

Dump the mixture onto the lined baking sheet, and spread it into a thin sheet no thicker than an almond. Ideally, the edges will be slightly thicker than the center as they will bake faster. Lay the second piece of parchment over the granola, and place the second sheet pan on top, right-side up, making a little granola sandwich.

Slide the whole thing into the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Rotate and continue baking another 10 - 20 minutes, peeking under the parchment to make sure the edges aren't burning, until the granola is a rich golden brown. It will still be soft, but should crisp up as it cools. (If the granola is still soft after cooling, return it, uncovered, to a low oven (around 150º) and let it dry out for 20 minutes or so.)

Let the granola cool completely in the sheet pan sandwich, then break up into large sheets or clumps, add in the pistachios, and store in an airtight container for up to a month (or possibly more.)

Enjoy over fruit and yogurt for breakfast, alone for a crunchy snack, or over ice cream (saffron?) for a decadent dessert.

This best-ever granola can be made five different ways and turned into both sweet and savory meals.

Healthy Homemade Granola Recipe

oats (not quick cooking or steel cut)

sea salt

maple syrup

organic honey

coconut oil

Heat oven to 300 degrees F. Line a large baking tray or two medium-size jelly roll pans with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, add dry ingredients: oats, almonds, cinnamon and salt. Mix well.

In a small jar or bowl, combine maple syrup, honey and vanilla. Measure coconut oil and melt it in a microwave-safe ramekin.

Pour wet ingredients over dry ingredients. Mix and toss until well combined. All oats and almonds should be moistened. With a spatula, spread the granola in an even layer within the prepared baking tray.

Bake for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Granola is done when it&#8217;s nice and golden. Remove tray from oven and place it on a cooling rack. Cool granola completely.

You can't beat homemade granola. Besides being so much better for you, it is more economical!! A small box of granola won't last very long at our house. Your recipe is a lot like mine. Hello, I have always enjoyed a bar of granola from the store for my afternoon snack. But I believe homemade is always better not to mention, healthier too. The recipe that you mention in the article is amazing and delicious.

Homemade Healthy Granola

coconut

raisins

cranberries

pecan nuts

pumpkin seeds (pepitas)

sea salt flakes

oranges

unsalted butter

golden syrup

Preheat oven to 130°C.

Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with baking paper (half sheet measurement)

Add rolled oats, coconut, raisins, cranberries, almonds, pecan nuts, pepitas, salt and orange zest to a large bowl.

Add butter, maple syrup and golden syrup to a small saucepan. Simmer on low heat for 5-6 minutes until butter has completely melted. Mix well.

Add the butter mixture to the bowl with the oat mixture. Mix thoroughly until the butter mixture coats everything evenly.

Tip the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet (half-sheet sized / 46cm X 33cm / 18 in X 13 in). Spread evenly to completely cover the baking sheet with the granola mixture. Press down on the mixture with a wooden spoon or spatula and compact it (this step is very important if you want chunks of granola)

Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes. Turn off the oven and allow the tray to rest in the warm oven for another 3-4 minutes.

Remove from the oven and cool the granola completely in the tray. This takes about an 1-2 hours.

Once cooled, granola will be crispy and dry and you will be able to break it into clusters. Store granola in a large air-tight container in a cool corner of your kitchen for up to 4 or 5 weeks.

This easy Homemade Granola Recipe with honey is full of easy to find ingredients that can be customized depending on what flavor you are going for!

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.  Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together honey, oil, brown sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon.

Gently fold in the oats and the nuts. Spread the mixture onto the baking sheet.  Bake for 35 to 45 minutes rotating the baking sheet half way though baking.

Starting from when you rotate the pan (around 18 minutes), keep a very close eye on your granola. Check on it every few minutes, especially as you start to smell it more. It can burn very quickly. As it starts to turn golden around the edges, it will need only a few minutes more.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Allow to cool for an hour. Break apart the granola and mix in the dried fruit. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
