Crispy Pork Belly Chips

½ lbs. pork belly

Knorr Liquid Seasoning

water

bay leaves

whole peppercorn

Combine pork belly, water, whole peppercorn, and dried bay leaves in a cooking pot. Cover the pot and let it boil. Adjust heat between low and medium. Continue boiling for 60 minutes.

Remove pork from the pot. Let it cool down. Slice into thin pieces. Note: I usually freeze the pork for 1 ½ hours before slicing it. This method will harden the meat and fat by a bit. It helps prevent the meat from wobbling when sliced.

Combine sliced pork and Knorr Liquid Seasoning. Mix well.

Arrange pork on an air fryer. Set the air fryer to 350F and air fry for 20 minutes or until pork becomes crispy. Note: Make sure to flip the pork slices in the middle of the cooking process. This will ensure that both sides are cooked properly.

Marinated pork belly grilled to perfection and served with spicy vinegar and pickled papaya. This is a perfect barbecue dish to serve during tailgate parties or excursions.

Easy Liempo Inihaw

Knorr SavorRich Pork Liquid Seasoning

soy sauce

banana ketchup

lemon (or 3 pieces calamansi)

black pepper

garlic (crushed)

lemon juice

cooking oil

Arrange pork belly in a large bowl. Add all marinade ingredients including Knorr SavorRich Pork Liquid Seasoning. Mix well. Let it stay for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the basting sauce by combining all basting sauce ingredients in a bowl. Stir until well blended. Set aside.

Heat-up the grill. Start to grill the marinated liempo for 3 minutes. Brush basting sauce on the top part and the turn it. Baste and grill the opposite side for 3 minutes. Perform these steps with the same duration of grilling until the liempo gets medium brown. Note: it usually takes 3 cycles to completely cook the pork belly.

Remove from the grill. Let the liempo cool down. Slice into serving pieces.

Serve with spicy vinegar and papaya atchara. Share and enjoy!

Inihaw na liempo is a Filipino dish consisting of pork belly marinated in a flavorful blend of soy sauce, spices, and aromatics, then cooked to perfection either on a charcoal grill, in an oven, or an air fryer.

Inihaw na Liempo Recipe

Slice and divide the pork belly slab into 3 portions. Prick each pork belly with a meat prick (meat tenderizer) or a fork. Prick all the sides of the pork belly.

In a plastic container or a basin, combine pork belly, soy sauce, bay leaves, black pepper, garlic, onion, leeks, lemon grass and salt.

Mix all the ingredients well and massage the pork belly for a minute. Then add the sprite or 7-Up soft drinks. Cover and marinade in the fridge overnight.

Before grilling the pork belly, remove from marinade and skew with a skewer to prevent the pork from curling.

You have 3 options in cooking the pork belly. You can use a charcoal grill, an oven or an air fryer.

If you are using a charcoal grill, light up the charcoal and slow cook the pork belly. Cook for 3 hours while basting with a mixture of barbecue marinade and cooking oil.

If you are using an oven or airfryer, set the temperature at 160 °C and roast the pork belly fopr 3 to 4 hours. Baste with a mixture of barbecue marinade and cooking oil from time to time.

When cooked, slice the pork belly into serving pieces. Serve with a spiced vinegar dipping sauce and cooked rice.
