Instant Pot Lasagna

Salt + pepper

(200 grams) Ricotta cheese

(1 grams) Italian seasoning

Create Ricotta Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat one large egg, then add in ¾ cup (200g) Ricotta cheese. Season with 1 tsp (1g) Italian seasoning, ground black pepper, and ⅓ tsp kosher salt.

Assemble Instant Pot Lasagna: Line a 7-inch springform pan with cut-out parchment paper (optional). Break the uncooked oven-ready lasagna noodles into smaller pieces, then layer them at bottom of the pan in a single layer. Layer ⅓ portion of the meat sauce on the lasagna noodles. Layer Ricotta cheese mixture on the meat sauce, then add shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat this layering cycle twice. Add ¼ cup (30g - 40g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese on the very top. Then, wrap the springform pan tightly with aluminum foil.

Pressure Cook Lasagna: Pour 1 cup (250ml) cold water, then place a trivet in Instant Pot. Create a sling foil, then place springform pan in Instant Pot. Close lid, then pressure cook at High Pressure for 24 minutes + 10 minutes Natural Release.*Note: Since some oven-ready lasagna noodles take longer to cook, make sure to check that the noodles are properly cooked before proceeding to the next step. If they&#039;re still a bit firm, cover it with the aluminum foil, place it back in the Instant Pot, then Pressure Cook at High Pressure for another 5 - 6 minutes + Quick Release.

Optional Broil Lasagna: Preheat oven to 425°F when Instant Pot is natural releasing. Place the cooked lasagna in a 425°F oven until the cheese is browned on top (~7 - 9 mins).

Serve: For an easier release, use a paring knife to gently release the Lasagna from the springform pan. Slice the glorious lasagna and serve immediately. Enjoy~ :)

Heat

Turn the Instant Pot to Saute and let heat for a couple of minutes.

Brown meat

Add a tiny bit of olive oil and either ground beef or ground sausage. Begin to brown and break up meat into smaller bites. 

Season

Add in kosher salt, 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning, minced garlic, and diced onion. Saute for 3-5 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. 

Remove

Once meat is browned, remove from pressure cooker using a slotted spoon. Turn Instant Pot off.

Deglaze

Pour in 1 1/2 cups of water into the Instant Pot Inner Pan and Scrape up any browned bits of meat with a spoon or spatula.

Place

Add in trivet to the Instant Pot right over the water.

Combine

Mix together the ricotta cheese with an egg, 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and grated Parmesan cheese. If you want a little kick to your lasagna, add in the crushed red pepper flakes as well.

Layer

In a 7 by 3-inch springform pan or 7 by 3-inch oven-safe cake pan, layer the ingredients for the lasagna. Start with a thin layer of marinara sauce. Break up oven-ready lasagna noodles to fit to cover the bottom of the baking pan. Top with half the ricotta cheese mixture. Sprinkle with half the meat and onion mixture. Cover the meat mixture with marinara sauce and then sprinkle with light layer of mozzarella cheese. Add another layer of lasagna noodles, breaking to fit in a single layer over the marinara sauce. Top with remaining ricotta cheese mixture. Sprinkle with remaining meat mixture. Top with another layer of marinara sauce and then sprinkle with a light layer of mozzarella cheese. Add the final layer of lasagna noodles, breaking to fit again. Top with a generous layer or tomato sauce. Sprinkle generously with shredded Mozzarella Cheese.

Prepare

Place the lasagna pan on a tin foil “sling” to help lower and lift lasagna out of Instant Pot and then place the lasagna on the trivet inside the pressure cooker. If you are worried about condensation forming on the top of your lasagna, loosely cover with foil.This will prevent any condensation from forming on the cheese layer.

Seal

Place lid on pressure cooker and be sure your instant pot is sealed.

Pressure Cook

Set to cook on high pressure for 22 minutes if NOT covered with foil, 27 minutes if covered with foil.

Pressure Release

Let the pressure release for 10 minutes and then do a quick release for any remaining pressure.

Broil

If you would prefer a browned top to your lasagna, remove&nbsp;lasagna from the Instant Pot and place on a cookie sheet.&nbsp;Place lasagna under broiler for 3-6 minutes, watching carefully, as to not burn.

Rest

Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Classic Italian Lasagna Recipe for the Pressure Cooker

Fast, easy, saucy, cheesy are all of the things that this delicious Instant Pot lasagna with a springform pan has been described as. Make it for dinner tonight!

Instant Pot Lasagna Recipe with a Springform Pan

Italian sausage

onion ((diced))

(4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms

(28 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce

(16 ounce) container cottage cheese

parmesan cheese

eggs

(16 ounce) package oven-ready lasagna noodles

Mozzarella cheese ((divided))

Push SAUTE button on the Instant Pot. Once it is hot (it will only take a few minutes), cook and stir Italian sausage until brown. (You could also do this step on the stove top, but it’s just as easy to do it in the Instant Pot)

Add onions and mushrooms; saute until onions are clear.

Stir in spaghetti sauce, and heat through. Pour mixture into a bowl and set aside. Rinse out your pot.

In a medium size bowl, combine cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and eggs.

Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a round 7-Inch Springform pan.

Layer with 1/2 of the uncooked lasagna noodles, breaking the noodles so they cover all the sauce. Then add 1/2 of cheese mixture, 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1/2 of the meat sauce. Continue layering until all ingredients are used or until your springform pan is filled to the top.

Cover pan with aluminum foil.

Place a trivet in the bottom of the Instant Pot. Add 1 cup of water on top of the trivet. Gently place your foil wrapped lasagna on top of the trivet.

Push the PRESSURE COOK or MANUAL and set the timer for 24 minutes.

When it is done, let it release on its own for a few minutes then turn the knob to VENTING to release all of the pressure.

When the pressure is out, remove the lid and take out the lasagna.

Add 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and broil in the oven for 2 minutes until the cheese it bubbly on top.

Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Instant Pot Lasagna to make you feel warm and cozy inside on a chilly day.

Select sauté on the pressure cooker and add oil.  When hot, add sausage.  Brown and crumble the meat until it’s cooked through.  Remove to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb the extra grease.

In a medium bowl, stir together ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and basil.  

Lightly spray a 7 &#8211; 8 inch pushpan, cake pan, or springform pan with nonstick cooking spray.  Spread about ½ cup sauce in the bottom of the pan.  Top with a layer of noodles (break the noodles to fit).  Spread a third of the ricotta mixture over the noodles; sprinkle with a third of the sausage.  Repeat the layers two more times, ending with a layer of sauce.  (From bottom to top, you should have: sauce, noodles, cheese, sausage, sauce, noodles, cheese, sausage, sauce, noodles, cheese, sausage, and then any remaining sauce.)

Add 1 cup of water to the pressure cooker pot and plate trivet inside.  Place the lasagna on the trivet using a silicone or tinfoil sling for easier removal.  Secure the lid and turn pressure release knob to a sealed position.  Cook at high pressure for 25 minutes.  

When cooking is complete, use a natural release for 10 minutes and then release any remaining pressure.

Carefully remove the hot lasagna.  Top with remaining ½ cup of mozzarella cheese.  Place under the oven broiler to brown the cheese.  May also use an air fryer lid if available.  Allow the lasagna to rest and cool for 15 &#8211; 20 minutes before serving.

This was delicious!! So worth the time it took to prepare. I used 8 regular noodles and soaked them as in the notes. Seven would have been enough for three layers in my 7" Fat Daddios push-bottom pan, but I just layered them more. I will do 8 again next time, too, for a good noodle to filling ratio. I used a couple of Tbs of minced flat Italian parsley instead of basil (personal preference). The quesadilla cheese is for sure the way to go! EXCELLENT!! Company-worthy for sure.

In a skillet, heat up olive oil. Add garlic, onion and green pepper. Saute for 3 to 4 minutes.

Add seasoning and stir in. This will activate the dried herbs and make the dish flavorful.

Add ground beef and cook, breaking apart with a wooden spoon, until done and no longer pink.

Add crushed tomatoes and stir in. Let it come to simmer. Remove from heat and set aside.

to make the sauce:

In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese with egg. Stir in both mozzarella and Parmesan. Add spinach and stir in. Set aside.

to make ricotta layer:

Make sure the stainless steel insert is in your Instant Pot. Place the trivet inside and pour 1.5 cups of water into the pot.

In a 7" springform pan, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Take two lasagna noodles, break into large pieces and layer over the sauce.

Spread 1/2 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.

Spread 1/3 of the meat sauce over ricotta layer.

Add another layer of noodles.

Top it with 1/2 of the meat sauce.

Place more noodles on top of the sauce.

Spread the remaining amount of sauce over the noodles.

Top with shredded mozzarella.

Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil.

Place the pan on the trivet in the Instant Pot.

Close the lid and set valve to sealing position.

Make sure the Instant Pot is set to cook at HIGH pressure.

Press "manual" or "pressure cook" setting. Set timer to 23 minutes. The IP will beep and start coming to pressure.

Once the timer is done, press "cancel/off" and let the pressure release naturally for at least 5 minutes. Then switch the valve to venting.

Carefully open the lid away from your face. Remove the foil and remove the springform pan from the Instant Pot.

Let the lasagna sit for 5 to 10 minutes on the counter. Run a knife around the edge of the lasagna, then remove the side of the pan.

to assemble:

Instant Pot Lasagna is cheesy and hearty made with ground beef, ricotta cheese, herbs, lasagna noodles, and marinara sauce! The best part is that you don&#39;t have to boil the noodles.

Easy Instant Pot Lasagna

Ricotta cheese

Mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Parmesan cheese (grated)

24 oz jar pasta sauce

lasagna noodles (depends on the size)

In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients listed in the &quot;Cheese Layer&quot; section. Stir to combine and set aside.

Cheese Layer:

Press the Sauté button on the Instant Pot, once it reads hot, add olive oil to the inner pot.

Add meat, and cook unmoved for 1-2 minutes. Using a wooden spoon, break the beef and cook until no longer pink.

Add diced onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Saute stirring occasionally for 1-2 minutes, until the onion is soft.

Scoop mixture from the Instant Pot and add it to a bowl.

Add 1 1/2 cup of water to the pot and deglaze it. Turn off the pressure cooker.

Meat Layer:

In a 7x 3 springform pan or push pan, start layering the ingredients in the following order.

First layer: break about 3-4 no-boil noodles and arrange them to cover the bottom of the pan.

Second layer: Spread about 3/4 - 1 cup of the pasta sauce over the noodles, smooth the sauce using the back of a spoon, and make sure the noodles are well covered.

Third layer: Spread 1/2 of the meat mixture evenly on top of the sauce layer. Press slightly.

Fourth layer: Spread 1/2 of the cheese mixture evenly on top of the meat layer. Press slightly.

Repeat 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th layer. Press slightly.

Add a final layer of no-boil lasagna noodles. Press slightly. Cover with sauce and sprinkle 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.

Spray a sheet of foil with nonstick spray and cover the pan, the foil should not touch the cheese, aim for it to be 1 inch from the top lasagna layer.

Assembling:

Assuming that you have not discarded the 1 1/2 cup of water from the Instant Pot, if you did, then add 1 1/2 cup of water to the pot.

Place the covered lasagna pan on a trivet with handles and add it to the inner pot.

Close and lock the lid. Point the steam knob to the Sealing position.

Press the Pressure Cook or Manual button and input 22 minutes.

When the cooking cycle has ended, follow with a 15 minutes Natural Release. Then, turn the knob to the Venting position to release any remaining steam.

Open the pressure cooker and transfer the lasagna pan to a cooling rack.

Turn on the oven broiler to 450 degrees F and place an oven rack in the middle of the oven.

Remove the foil cover, sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and carefully, wearing oven mittens, transfer the lasagna pan to the oven.

Broil for just a few minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Watch it closely to not burn it!

Cooking:

Remove the lasagna from the oven, and let it rest on a cooling rack for about 10-15 minutes. This will help maintain its shape when you try to remove it from the pan.

Release the lasagna from the springform pan and slide it onto a plate.

To release the lasagna from a push pan, wearing oven mittens, lift the pan and place it on a large aluminum or stainless steel can (anything canned!) while still holding the pan. Carefully and slowly press down by the sides of the pan. The bottom of the push pan with the lasagna will remain on top of the can, quickly slide another plate under the lasagna.

Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Slice and serve.
