Little Caesar's Italian Cheese Bread is one of our favorites! This is my copycat version of it!  Made from scratch and ready in under an hour! This cheesy garlic bread will have you ditching the take out and making it yourself!

Copycat Italian Cheese Bread Recipe

(2 1/4 tsp) Active Dry Yeast

Sugar

Cup Warm Water

Tbs. Olive Oil

Salt

Cups Flour

Cups of pre-shredded Italian Blend Cheese

Tbs. Butter

Italian Seasoning blend

Dissolve the yeast with the warm water and sugar in your mixing bowl.   Let stand to activate for 5 minutes.

Add the olive oil, salt and 2 cups of flour.

Mix together and knead until a sticky dough forms.  It will be a softer dough and won't come together in a firm ball.  Add more flour if you need.

Cover the dough and let rise until doubled, about 20 to 30 minutes.

Line a 9x13 baking dish with tin foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Lightly press the risen dough into the prepared baking dish and cover to let rise for 10-15 minutes while your oven preheats.

Once your oven is preheated sprinkle the 2 cups of italian cheese blend evenly over the dough.

Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.  The cheese will be mostly golden brown.

Melt the butter and brush it across the top of the hot cheese bread.

Sprinkle garlic salt across the top.  We like a generous amount.

Sprinkle the italian seasoning across the top.

Lift the hot cheese bread out of the baking dish and place it on a cutting board.

Slice into 12 pieces with a pizza cutter.

Delicious!!! Is there a way to possibly freeze the dough at some point to make it easier for quickly making for dinner?

These are really good. The dough is impossible to press into the pan due to being so sticky, but the bread comes out so soft. I oiled the pan so the bottom would develop a golden crispy crust. They were perfect.

I made this today. I wasn’t sure about that very slack dough, but it turned out great. Delicious!

So delicious and easy to follow. 
We even had an extra side of little caesars crazy sauce in the fridge to go along with these :)

Italian Easter Cheese Bread, also known as  &quot;Crescia di Pasqua&quot; is made with a combination of cheeses and is often served as a savory accompaniment to Easter meals.

Italian Easter Cheese Bread

water lukewarm

sugar

dry yeast

+1½ tablespoons all purpose flour

parmesan cheese

pecorino cheese

milk

eggs room temperature

olive oil

black pepper (more

salt

Swiss, gruyere, fontina or Provolone cheese (cubed small/medium) (150)

In a small bowl stir together the water and the sugar, sprinkle the yeast on top and let sit for 10 minutes, then stir to combine.

In the bowl of the stand mixer whisk together the flour, Parmesan cheese, and Pecorino Romano cheese, add the milk, eggs, egg yolk, olive oil and yeast mixture. With the dough hook attachment start to knead on low speed, then add the pepper and salt, continue to knead on speed #2 until the dough is smooth and elastic, approximately 10-12 minutes.

Move the dough to a lightly floured flat surface and form it into a ball, place the dough ball in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in a warm draft free area and let rise until doubled, approximately 2 hours.

Move the dough again to a lightly floured flat surface, gently pat it into a thick rectangle, sprinkle the cubed cheese on top gather the ends of the dough to cover the cheese, then form the dough into a ball.

Place the ball into the a greased and floured or sprayed 8x4 inch/ 21x11 cm round cake pan and let rise until the bread reaches the top of the rim, approximately 2-4 hours. This will depend on the warmth of your house.

Pre-heat the oven to 350F (180C).

Bake in the pre-heated oven until golden brown approximately 40-45 minutes. The bread is done when the internal temperature is 190F/88C. Allow the bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
