For those who like a lighter texture of whole wheat bread, this wonderful, aromatic basil Italian whole wheat bread is perfect: taste, flavour, appearance, texture, all very good.

Italian Whole Wheat Bread Fast2eat

Water (lukewarm - 80-90°F/26-32°C)

tbsp Olive oil

Whole wheat flour

Bread flour

tbsp sugar

Salt

tbsp Basil

tsp Active dry yeast

Attach the kneading blade in the Bread Maker pan.

Place ingredients into the bread pan following the recipe order (or following the order and method specified in your Bread Maker manual – mine is: FIRST, liquid ingredients; SECOND, dry ingredients; LAST, yeast). Note: With a finger or a knife, make a small indentation in the middle of the flour. Add yeast to indentation, making sure it does not come into contact with the liquid ingredients.

Carefully insert bread pan into Bread Maker and gently close the lid.

Select the “Whole Wheat” bread setting. If available, choose crust colour (I usually set Medium, but if you prefer, set Light or Dark) and loaf size (1.5LB) and press the Start button.

It will mix and bake the bread. When the baking cycle is complete, press the stop button and unplug the breadmaker.

Open the lid and while using Oven Mitt, firmly grasp the bread pan handle and gently pull the pan straight up and out of the machine. CAUTION: The Bread Maker and pan may be very hot! Always handle with care.

Use non-stick Spatula to gently loosen the sides of the bread from the pan.

Turn the bread pan upside down onto a Wire Cooling Rack or clean cooking surface and gently shake until bread falls out onto the rack.

Cool for about 10-15 minutes before slicing.

To make perfect slices every time, use a Bread Slicer with an Electric Knife.

This bread machine Italian herb bread creates a great tasting Italian-style sandwich bread. It is perfect for Italian-themed sandwiches such as chicken parmesan sandwiches, porchetta sandwiches, meatball sandwiches and mozzarella, tomato &amp; basil sandwiches (also known as Caprese sandwiches). This Italian herb bread machine recipe creates a 2 lb bread loaf.

Bread Machine - Italian Herb Bread

Milk (lukewarm) ()

Tablespoons Unsalted Butter ((softened))

Cups Bread Flour ((not all purpose flour))

Tablespoons White Granulated Sugar ()

Tablespoon Italian Herbs Seasoning ()

Teaspoon Onion Powder ((optional))

Teaspoon Bread Machine Yeast ()

Cups Milk ((lukewarm))

Tablespoons Unsalted Butter ((sliced & softened))

Cups Bread Flour

Tablespoons Sugar

Tablespoons Italian Herb Seasoning

Teaspoons Salt

Teaspoons Bread Machine Yeast

Bread Machine settings – 1.5 or 2 pound loaf, light color and “basic” bread setting

Make sure the bread machine is unplugged and remove the bread pan from the bread machine.

Pour the milk into the bread pan and then add the other ingredients (including the Italian herb seasoning). Place the bread machine yeast in last and the yeast should not touch the liquid (until the bread machine is turned on and the ingredients start to be mixed together).

Place the bread pan back in the bread machine and plug in the bread machine.

Enter the correct settings into your bread machine (i.e. 1.5 or 2 lb, light color &amp; basic setting) and press the &quot;start&quot; button.

After the bread machine has finished baking the bread, unplug the bread machine. Remove the bread from the bread pan and place it on a cooling rack. Use oven mitts when removing the bread pan from the bread machine as it will be very hot!

In our Sunbeam bread machine, the baking takes about 3 hours for a 2 pound bread (and 2:53 hours for a 1.5 lb bread loaf) at the light color &amp; basic bread settings. However, some machines can differ and you don’t want to be away from home when the bread machine “finished” alarm goes off! Your bread machine should show you the length of the baking time after you have entered the settings into the machine. This will allow you to know when to be in the kitchen in order to remove the bread.
