keto bagels

Truly chewy keto bagels - you want them and I've got them! These bagels are low carb, nut-free, and take only 5 ingredients to make. Easy and delicious, they will take your healthy breakfast to a whole new level.

Keto Fathead Bagels

coconut flour (56 grams)

tsp baking powder

tsp xanthan gum

oz pre-shredded part skim mozzarella

eggs

sesame seeds

tsp poppyseed

onion

salt

butter

Preheat the oven to 350F and line a large baking sheet with a silicone liner. In a medium bowl, whisk together the coconut flour, baking powder, and xanthan gum. Set aside.

In a large microwave safe bowl, melt the cheese on high in 30 second increments until well melted and almost liquid. Stir in the flour mixture and the eggs and knead in the bowl using a rubber spatula.

Turn out onto the prepared baking sheet and continue to knead together until cohesive. Cut the dough in half and cut each half into 4 equal portions so that you have 8 equal pieces of dough.

Roll each portion out into a log about 8 inches long. Pinch the ends of the log together.

In a shallow dish, stir together the sesame seeds, poppyseed, dried onion, and salt. Brush the top of each bagel with melted butter and dip firmly into the everything seasoning. Set back on the silicone mat.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes, until the bagels have risen and are golden brown.

Coconut Flour Keto Bagels

When you're following a keto diet, carbs are bad, fat is good. How do you make a gluten-free low-carb bagel? Easy. You add almond flour and (a lot of) mozzarella cheese.

Everything Keto Bagels

almond flour

tbsp. baking powder

c. mozzarella cheese

cream cheese

tbsp. everything bagel seasoning

I added xanthan gum. Subtracted the everything. Was more like bread. Would make a great hamburger bun as well. Thanks.

DELICIOUS! I was really confused where the 10g of sugar cane from the other post. Hope this helps someone.

These were perfect just the way the recipe reads! They came out a little flat so if you want them fluffy you should refrigerate the dough a little while before baking.

Easy to make, delicious!! I skipped the hole in the middle to make a roll rather than bagel shape.

I had to substitute coconut flour for almond flour. I added an extra egg and little more cream cheese but they are delish😍

Great recipe! So easy to make. I had to substitute cheddar for mozzarella because I was working on a wim with what I had in the house. I'm sure the texture was affected but they're still good and the cheddar flavor is awesome. I also boiled mine after forming and before adding the everything seasoning. My son makes regular wheat flour bagels and he boils them.

This is an absolute family favorite! I make a double batch and divide it (by weight) into 18 bagels. I freeze them on trays and then put in a large ziplock bag. Although they don’t last long! A couple of tips. Have a bowl of cold water nearby to dip your fingers in. It is VERY sticky! Also, for an extra “kick”, I put a shallow bowl with “Everything but the Bagel” seasoning in it. I take a portion of dough, shape it into a ball and roll one side in the seasoning. I put that side down on the parchment paper and stretch it out. Then follow with egg wash and seasoning on top.
My favorite breakfast ... one of these topped with cream cheese, capers and sliced lox. 😊😋😋

Delicious! First time making bagels and love how easy was the recipe.

I made this tonight and also added Xanthan gum to ensure texture and bread stick and hold. It worked so well! Even made lox because I couldn’t wait for tomorrow morning!

I turned these into low carb pizzas... we love them so much. We now have these at least once a week if not more. My kids love them too.

These are delicious. I want to know if the texture I got is right though. Mine is more like the mozzarella texture. Is that right or should I expect something else? Thanks.

I’m new to keto and still getting used to the different textures. The texture was nothing like a bagel, but it was still good and very satisfying. I’ll definitely make these again.

Loved! So yummy didn’t have the everything bagel seasoning, so I added dried thyme, rosemary, garlic and onion powder.

So so good. I did swap out one of the cups of mozzarella cheese for parmesan Romano. I could taste quite strongly- next time just 1/2 cup of parmesan. I had read it in another recipe and sounded good. Great recipe - will make again

These Keto bagels are just as soft and chewy as regular bagels! Made with just 6 ingredients, they are ready in only 30 minutes.

Keto Bagels

mozzarella

almond

egg (large, beaten)

tbsp psyllium husk powder

poppy / sesame seeds (optional)

Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius / 350 Fahrenheit.

Melt the mozzarella and cream cheese in the microwave (60-90 seconds). Or, melt on the stovetop over low heat in a non-stick pan.

In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients - almond flour, psyllium husk powder and baking powder.

Add dry ingredients plus the beaten egg to the melted mozzarella mixture. Combine with a spatula, then knead with your hands until you have a smooth dough. Alternatively, mix in a stand mixer or food processor.

Form a large dough ball and cut it into 6 segments.

Form each segment into a log (11 centimetres long). Lay them down in a circle and pinch the ends together to make bagel shapes.

Place the bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds.

Bake for 20 minutes or until golden.

I have an allergy to almonds and already have kidney stones for using almond flour in place of wheat flour so almond flour is off the menu for me and I not liking the texture or taste of coconut flour as a replacement I have been seeing a lot of keto sites using bamboo fiber. It's fine ground so should be ok to replace the almond flour with it. I'm going to give it a try. Love me a bagel sandwich, whish me luck!

It has been AGES since I've had bagels! It was so satisfying to have cream cheese and a bagel fresh from the oven. Thank you for this recipe!

Great recipe, but mine came out purple on the inside. Does anyone know why this happened?

Absolutely delicious and so easy to make.
Thanks so much!
Saveed so much money and made them into buns, instead of bagles.

Shared with my family that are interested in less processed foods.
This will be a staple in my kitchen!

Thanks for the receipe. It's so crunchy and yum.

Thank you so much for sharing your recipes! I used your gluten free Victoria sponge recipe for a birthday cake for a child who had been unable to enjoy cake as she did not like the GF products on the market. With a few tweaks per her preference, it was a big hit and now kept on hand for her.

Took a few goes to get them right but think I have it now. Lovely for breakfast or lunch with cheese and salad.

These taste absolutely delicious! But mine turned out almost purple, I assume from the physulum husk powder. I wonder why. Also, can I flatten these before baking so I can use them for sandwiches? It certainly tastes like bread!

You’ll love these soft and chewy Keto bagels! This easy low carb bagel recipe is made with Fathead dough, which means it’s gluten free and grain free. Keto breakfast has never been more delicious.

These keto bagels are chewy and dense in the middle and have a tender crust, they taste like real deal bagels! Made with NO yeast and NO boiling needed, they use almond flour and need just 5 ingredients! Watch the video below to see how I make it in my kitchen!

Perfect Keto Bagels

baking powder

mozzarella cheese (shredded)

oz cream cheese (softened)

eggs (divided)

sesame seeds (optional)

Preheat the oven to 200C/400F. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

In a small bowl, combine the almond flour and baking powder and set aside. In a microwave safe bowl, add the mozzarella cheese and cream cheese. Microwave them together in 30-second spurts, until mostly melted. Whisk them together until smooth.

Transfer the mixture into a food processor, along with two of the eggs and dry ingredients, and pulse until smooth.

Lightly flour a kitchen surface with some almond flour. Transfer the dough onto it and divide it into eight equal portions. Roll out each piece of dough into a thin, sausage shape. Connect the sides to form bagels.

Place the bagels onto the lined baking sheet. Whisk the third egg in a small bowl then brush it over the tops of each bagel, then sprinkle your toppings of choice. Bake the bagels for 12-15 minutes, until firm and golden on top.

Remove the bagels from the oven and let them cool completely, before slicing and serving.

Thanks for the recipe. They were simple to make and a huge hit at my house. Using a bread blade to pulse made them very fluffy and easy to work with. I’ll definitely make them again!

I tried a other recipe and was disheartened so I wasn't holding out much hope - BUT these are great!
I found the mixture difficult to work with I won't lie but it was well worth it. Thank you :)

Love this bagel recipe. Question if I want to make an Everything Bagel do you add the seasoning prior to baking, let it bake half way then add, it add once baking is complete?

I have made these and they are amazing! I have also made them into garlic knots with rosemary and garlic- also amazing. Everything i make from Arman turns out awesome. Thank you for being so brillant!

Just what I was looking for! Delicious, easy to make and low carb

These are amazing! I tried a few recipes from other websites for keto /yogurt breads that all turned out mushy and soggy inside, but your bagels are amazing! They are the most similar to real bagels or any bread or grain-like keto item I’ve had thus far! Thank you! Will definitely make these again and again!
