This warm and comforting Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Soup has all the flavors of a cheeseburger, but in a rich and creamy soup. It's as though you can taste each individual condiment. And do yourself a favor and do not skip the pickles.

Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Soup

beef stock

tomato,

dill pickles

Dijon Mustard

Worcestershire sauce

parsley

salt,

black pepper

½ pounds ground beef

onion,

garlic,

cheddar cheese

heavy cream

To the slow cooker, add the beef stock, tomato, pickles, Dijon, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, and pepper.

In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, onions, and garlic until the ground beef is browned and cooked all the way through. Drain the excess grease and add to the slow cooker. Cover and cook for 6 hours.

Mix in cheddar cheese and heavy cream and and cook 1 additional hour.

Slow Cooker Instructions:

Heat a large dutch oven or stock pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef, onions, and garlic, and cook until the ground beef is browned and cooked through.

Add the beef stock, tomato, pickles, Dijon, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Mix in the cheddar cheese and heavy cream, reduce the heat to low, cover and stirring occasionally, simmer for 30 minutes.

Stovetop Instructions:

This recipe is delicious! Before low carb eating, I had a cheeseburger recipe that was so good (but not healthy) and couldn’t imagine finding a replacement. I was wrong! Even my kids love this recipe!

I cannot believe how good this recipe is!!!  One thing I would think about often would be missing my hamburgers with the bun, pickles and mustard.  Well, this soup tastes just like what I crave. These beef tips simmer away in a rich sauce that is thickened into a gravy before serving. Serve this over a pile of mashed cauliflower for a classic comfort food dinner that no one will even realize is low carb.

Keto Beef Tips and Gravy

chuck

salt

cracked pepper

oil (divided)

onion

beef broth

beef bouillon granules

garlic powder

onion powder

xanthan gum

Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper.

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large dutch oven over high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides. Work in batches if needed so that you don't overcrowd the pan.

Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan. Add the onion to the pot, stirring often, until softened about 5 minutes.

Add the seared beef, broth, bouillon granules, Worcesetershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder to the pot and stir well to combine.

Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, and cook, covered, for 1 ½ hours or until beef is tender.

Remove ½ cup of the beef broth from the pan into a small bowl. Sprinkle the xanthan gum over the top and whisk well to combine.

Pour the liquid back into the pot and stir well.

Continue cooking for 30 minutes to thicken. 

Serve the beef tips and gravy over mashed cauliflower.

Perfect recipe for comfort food on a cold, PNW night. It was perfect over mashed cauliflower. Followed your recipe as written, but added closer to 1/2 teaspoon of xanthan gum and probably an additional half cup of red wine. I added the xanthan gum to approximately 2 tablespoons of melted butter, whisked it, and put it into the simmering broth, it thickened up quickly – within 4 to 5 minutes. Incredible!

BEEF TIPS AND GRAVY is pure comfort food and this version is low carb and keto! We serve ours over a pile of mashed cauliflower for a hearty dinner that the whole family will request again and again.

Keto Chicken Fried Steak with Creamy Sausage Gravy

cube steak, 4 pieces pounded 1/4 inch thick

Sea salt and black pepper

eggs

pork

Parmesan cheese, grated

paprika

cayenne pepper

Cooking oil

tbsp butter

oz pork breakfast sausage links sausage

onion, diced

tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

tsp sea salt

Sprinkle the cube steaks with sea salt and black pepper on both sides.

In a shallow bowl, combine the heavy cream and eggs. Fork whisk.

Combine the pork rinds, Parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and cayenne pepper. Pour the mixture into a thin layer on a large plate. This will be your breading.

In a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, heat 1/4 to 1/2 inch of oil.

Dip the cube steak into the egg wash and then dredge in the breading, coating thoroughly on both sides.

Drop the breaded cube steak into the oil. Fry until crispy and golden brown, about 3 minutes for each side.

For the Chicken Fried Steak

Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add

the sausage (crumbled if ground, sliced if using link sausage). Cook until the sausage is browned. Using a slotted spoon, remove the sausage from the pan, retaining the drippings. Set the sausage aside.

To the drippings in the pan, add the onion and garlic. Lower the heat to medium-low and cook until the onion is translucent and soft. Stir often to avoid burning the garlic.

To the pan, add the heavy cream, parsley and sea salt. Increase the heat to medium and bring to a boil. Once the gravy begins to boil, lower the heat to low and simmer. Once the gravy begins to thicken, add the sausage back to the pan.

Pour the gravy over top of the Chicken Fried Steak and ENJOY!

For the Creamy Sausage Gravy

We're starting back with our Keto diet January 2nd and decided to try some recipes. Whether you are on a low carb diet or not, this recipe is fantastic.. I read on one of the other reviews to start the gravy first and that's a good idea. With no thickening agent it takes quite a while to thicken.

This is exactly what I have been looking for! I just made it for breakfast and my husband wants to have it again tomorrow. To the person who suggested starting the gravy first so that it has time to thicken, great tip! The gravy was the perfect thickness by the time the steak was done. I made two tweaks. After breading, I sprayed the steak with avocado oil and cooked it in my air fryer for 8 minutes, flipping over half way through. Instead of sausage links, I used spicy ground sausage. We love spicy food in our house. I was concerned that the spicy sausage would ruin the flavors of the gravy, but it didn’t. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us! It was magnificent!!!

The first time I made this recipe was for my son and his friends, they absolutely loved it! My husband said this recipe was a keeper! None of them knew it was a keto recipe because if they did, they would not have eaten it. Also, the gravy flavor and consistency was amazing!

Once again a recipe of yours did not disappoint. This was so good. My picky husband couldn’t stop raving about it. He thought the gravy complemented the coating on the steak perfectly. I too started the gravy first and it thickened wonderfully.  I fried my steaks in a combination of bacon grease and avocado oil. This type of breading  always looks a little darker after cooking than a typical flour breading does (for me) but tastes wonderful . I served mine with collard greens.. Found your recipe tonight because the smothered steaks I cooked for the family would have been a week’s worth of carbs.  Everyone at the table got a taste of ‘my’ steak and it’s unanimous...this is how I fix tenderized round steak from now on.  Yay!!  (Now, if I could just coax the 8 y/o over to broccoli and cauliflower.)  This is an absolutely delicious recipe and that’s coming from someone who hates pork rinds.

Seriously delicious! I have had a lot of issues trying to do a proper breading, but this mix did very nicely!  The flavors all went together very nicely. Will definitely make this again and again! (My wife love country-fried chicken and steak, so finding this recipe was a great win for both of us!)

Still awesome.  This is my favorite recipe of all time. It takes me about 90 
 Minutes to make so I double the recipe and freeze half.
