This tender and flaky chili lime tilapia is cooked to perfection in the air fryer or oven in under 15 minutes, for a quick and easy weeknight meal. Enjoy in tacos, burrito bowls, salads, or on its own!

Chili Lime Tilapia in the Air Fryer or Oven (Paleo, Whole30, Keto)

oz tilapia fillets (6-8 oz each)

tsp chili powder

tsp cumin

garlic powder

oregano

tsp sea salt

tsp black pepper

If your air fryer needs preheating, preheat to 400 degrees F. Grease the air fryer basket or tray with your favorite cooking oil.

Pat dry the tilapia fillets with a paper towel.

In a small bowl, combine all the spices, except lime juice, and stir together.

Press the spice mix into the fish on all sides.

Cook the fish in the air fryer without touching each other for 8-10 minutes, until opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Drizzle with lime juice and serve immediately.

Air Fryer Method

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and grease a baking sheet with your favorite cooking oil.

Place the fish on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes, until opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Oven Method

For an easy weeknight seafood dinner, make baked cod by roasting fresh fillets with parmesan cheese and a lemon garlic sauce -- the cod ends up tender and flaky, infused with citrus and cheesy flavors. For convenience, only a single pan is needed to both bake the fish and make the sauce. Keto, low carb, and gluten free.

Prepare: Position an oven rack in the middle of the oven, and preheat to 400 F. Pat cod fillets dry using paper towels. Sprinkle salt over both sides of each fillet. Set aside.

Make Sauce: In an oven-safe pan (Note 4), melt butter over medium heat, stirring constantly, less than a minute. Stir in minced garlic until aromatic and starting to brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Add white wine and lemon juice to the pan. They should immediately start to simmer. Briefly stir, then turn off the heat.

Add Cod: In a mixing bowl, stir parmesan cheese with paprika until well-mixed. Place cod fillets side-by-side in the pan, over sauce. Generously spoon parmesan mix over the top of fillets in the pan, using a spoon to spread it out until evenly distributed over fillets. It’s fine if some parmesan falls off fillets because it’ll become part of sauce.

Bake: Once the oven has heated to 400 F, transfer the pan to the oven. Bake until cod fillets are cooked through (easily flaked with a fork), 15 to 20 minutes.

Serve: Carefully transfer only cod fillets to serving plates, using a spatula to avoid disrupting parmesan topping. Stir together remaining liquid in the pan, optionally boiling over medium-high heat for a minute to thicken sauce, and drizzle sauce over cod. Sprinkle parsley on top, and serve while hot (Note 5).

Old Bay Fish Fry

lb Cod Fillets (or any neutral firm white meat fish)

Cup Almond Flour

tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese

tsp Bay Seasoning

tsp Garlic Powder

tsp Red Pepper Powder

Whole Egg

Cup Sparkling Water

tbsp Mayo

tbsp Dill Pickles (minced, about 1/2 spear)

Salt

Lemon

Gather all the ingredients.

If making the optional sauce, finely mince dill pickle spears and place into a small mixing bowl. Otherwise, skip to step 4).

In the same small mixing bowl, combine mayo, onion salt and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.

Prepare fillets by washing with cold fresh water and then drying fillets very well with a paper towel. Cut fillets into about 3 x 2 inch cuts and set aside.

Prepare batter by combining Almond Flour, grated Parmesan cheese, Bay Seasoning, garlic powder, red pepper powder, egg and Sparkling Water. Use a hand/stand mixer to mix (you can hand whisk, but batter won&#39;t be as airy).

Take a piece of fillet and dip into batter mix and set aside.

Pour enough cooking oil to cover half the fillets into a skillet of choice (we use a cast iron pan) and heat oil up to 375F (if you don’t have a thermometer, just wait until the oil starts to lightly smoke, about 3-5 minutes).

Once up to heat, reduce heat to medium, carefully add coated fillets and cook for 1-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook the other side for 1-3 minute until golden brown. Once done, transfer fillets to drying rack and leave for about 1 minute (if you don&#39;t have a drying rack, you can just place them on a plate with paper towels).

Once all excess oil has dripped off, transfer the fried fish fillets to a serving plate and serve with optional sauce.
