Tbsp gochujang ((Korean chili paste))

Tbsp toasted sesame oil

Tbsp honey

sesame seeds

Put all ingredients in a food processor and blend until the texture is smooth. It will takes about 1 min. Transfer the sauce into a serving bowl. Garnish with the green onion and sesame seeds.

doenjang 된장 (Korean fermented soy bean paste)

gochujang 고추장 (Korean red chili pepper paste)

garlic

sugar (or honey

sesame oil

water or rice wine

scallion

green chili pepper

red chili pepper

chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts, etc.)

tuna

cooking oil

Combine all the ingredients and mix well until everything is well incorporated.

If using optional ingredients, prepare the ingredients, combine and mix everything well.

For basic ssamjang

Preheat a small pan with a tablespoon of oil. Add the onion, scallion and garlic and stir fry until the onion is cooked.

Add the tuna, doenjang, gochujang and the remaining ingredients. Stir well for a few minutes until everything is well incorporated. You can stir in some water or rice wine (or mirin) if the sauce seems dry (2 to 3 tablespoons).

For tuna ssamjang

Bold, savory ssamjang you can mix in about 5 minutes. Made with doenjang, gochujang, garlic, and sesame oil, this Korean dipping sauce is perfect for BBQ, lettuce wraps, and veggie dipping.

tbsp (24 g) Korean chili paste (gochujang)

tbsp (15 g) minced garlic

tbsp (15 ml) sweet rice wine (mirim)

tbsp (6 g) sugar (or honey)

tbsp (15 ml) sesame oil

tsp (6 g) toasted sesame seeds

Add all ingredients to a small bowl. Mix until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness, heat, or sesame oil to your liking.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
