Creamy Lemon Chicken Pasta + Super Easy Sauce

Simple and delicious fettuccine pasta made with garlic, parmesan cheese, lemon, and herbs. Then topped with sliced chicken breast.

olive oil (divided)

lb chicken breast

Kosher salt and pepper (to taste)

herbs de Provence

fettuccine pasta (gluten-free option,

garlic (minced)

oz artichoke hearts, coarsely chopped (one can)

baby spinach

lemon

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. I use a large one to finish up the pasta in it.

Add the chicken and season with salt, pepper, and herbs de Provence. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Allow it to sit on a chopping board for a few minutes before slicing it.

Meanwhile, in a soup pot bring water to a boil. Add in 1/2 tbsp salt and the pasta. Cook as directed on the package, then reserve 1 cup of the pasta water before draining.

On the same pan you cooked the chicken, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Sauté the garlic, over medium heat, for 30 seconds. Stir in the artichoke and spinach, and cook, stirring frequently, until the spinach is wilted.

While the pot is still on heat, add in the cooked pasta, together with the pasta water and remaining ingredients.

Toss to combine for a couple of minutes.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

This chicken and broccoli pasta recipe has the most delicious creamy lemon sauce and is perfect for a quick and easy dinner option.

Chicken and Broccoli Pasta

chicken

broccoli florets

linguine pasta

heavy cream

butter

salt and pepper

lemon parsley

Cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Add the broccoli to the pot during the last 4 minutes of cooking time.

Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta cooking liquid.

Melt the butter in a pan over medium-high heat until browned. Add the heavy cream, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring, until thick enough to coat a spoon, about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon zest and juice.

Place the pasta and broccoli back into the pot you cooked it in.

Pour the cream sauce over the pasta mixture and toss to coat evenly, adding pasta water if needed to thin the sauce. Stir in the parmesan cheese. Arrange the chicken on top of the pasta.

Add more salt and pepper to taste if needed. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately.

In a bowl, combine the parsley, 60 ml ( cup) of olive oil, lemon zest and juice, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta until al dente. Drain. Set aside.

In the same pot or in a skillet, brown the chicken in the remaining oil. Season with salt and pepper. Add half the parsley oil and cook for 1 minute to coat the chicken. Add the pasta and the remaining parsley oil. Toss well and heat through. Adjust the seasoning. Sprinkle with the Parmesan. Serve with a salad.

Lemon Chicken Pasta is an easy 30-minute dinner. This chicken pasta tastes like a restaurant quality meal and the lemon cream sauce will win you over.

oz fettuccini pasta (or spaghetti)

chicken breast

Tbsp milk

panko bread crumbs

salt

tsp black pepper

lemon juice (from 1 large lemon, divided)

unsalted butter

garlic

heavy whipping cream

tsp salt

Tbsp parsley (optional garnish)

Bring a large pot of water to boil, add 1 heaping Tbsp salt and pasta. Cook until al-dente according to package instructions or to your desired doneness. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water then drain and lightly rinse (rinsing will keep the sauce creamier)

Cook Pasta:

While pasta is cooking, set up 2 bowls. In first bowl, beat together 1 egg and 1 Tbsp milk. In second bowl, combine 1 cup bread crumbs, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper. Dip each chicken cutlet in egg wash, letting excess drip back into the bowl, then dip in bread crumbs, turning to coat.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 2 Tbsp oil, or enough to lightly cover the bottom of the pan and sautee breaded chicken in a single layer for 3-4 minutes per side or until cooked through with an internal temperature of 165˚F. Transfer to cutting board to cool slightly, squeeze half of the lemon juice over the top then cut into strips.

Make Lemon Chicken:

In a medium saucepan over medium heat. Melt 2 Tbsp butter then add 2 minced garlic cloves and 1/4 tsp onion powder. Sautee 1 minute until fragrant.

Add 2 cups heavy cream and 1/2 tsp salt. Bring to a simmer, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low and while whisking constantly, gradually pour in 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, whisking to incorporate.

Sprinkle the top with 1/3 cup parmesan cheese and remove from heat, whisking until cheese is melted and incorporated. Season to taste with salt (I added a pinch of salt).

Pour sauce over rinsed, drained pasta and toss to coat noodles. Add reserved pasta cooking water to thin the sauce if desired. Garnish with parsley and serve with strips of chicken over warm bowls filled with pasta.

Make Lemon Alfredo Sauce:

I tried this recipe twice with great success! The first time I followed your instructions. The second time I switched from chicken to salmon which was equally good! Thank you for your sharing!

Excellent!! I used about 8 Oz of spaghetti noodles and it was perfect. I used 3T of lemon juice in the sauce. It could easily handle 4T.
We loved it. Thank you Natasha!

This recipe saved my marriage. After making this my wife and I had the time of our lives. Thanks Natasha!!!

Because i love lemon, I added double the lemon juice and a little zest. Your recipe was incredible. Thank you.

We love this recipe thanks Natasha, I’ve made it a number of times

I love this, and have made it multiple times. For the ones that complain about the calories, fat etc, don't look at the ones you know will be fattening, like alfredo. The people that make these are happy with them so maybe you should just look at diet recipes or ones that say low fat, etc. Thanks for your wonderful recipes Natasha. Even though I've been cooking/baking over 50 yrs, I still find tons to make on your site (and your cookbook).

I use your recipes most days a week and this one is out of this world good.

Delicious and easy recipe! Family loved it! Will make this again.

Perfect light pasta for summer. Didn't change a thing. Family all LOVED it ! This recipe is a keeper!

This creamy lemon chicken pasta is quick, easy, and ready in just 30 minutes! Perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.

Creamy Lemon Chicken Pasta Recipe

A bright, creamy Lemon Chicken Pasta recipe with tender seared chicken, zucchini, and spinach, all tossed in a velvety lemon-Parmesan sauce. Weeknight-easy, restaurant-good, and on the table in about 30 minutes.

Lemon Chicken Pasta with Zucchini & Spinach

pasta (linguine, spaghetti, or short cuts like penne)

chicken breasts, or boneless, 8 skinless chicken thighs)

zucchini

baby spinach (loosely packed)

Tablespoons olive oil (divided)

garlic (thinly sliced)

chicken broth

garlic powder

Parmesan (plus more to serve)

kosher salt (plus

black pepper

red pepper flakes (optional)

basil

Bring a large pot of well-salted water to a boil over medium high heat. Cook pasta to just al dente according to the package directions. Reserve 1½ cups pasta water; drain.

While pasta cooks, pat chicken dry with a paper towel and season with ½ teaspoons salt and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Heat 2 Tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken in a single layer until golden on both sides and just cooked through, 4-6 minutes. Transfer to a platter and keep warm (reserve juices).

Lower to medium heat. Add remaining olive oil, zucchini, and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp and golden, 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; cook 30 seconds until fragrant.

Stir in chicken stock and lemon zest; simmer 1 minute, scraping up browned bits on the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon or spatula. Add 1/2 cup reserved pasta water, garlic powder, onion powder and the cream; bring to a gentle simmer over low heat.

Return chicken (and juices) to the pan. Add drained pasta and toss vigorously 30-60 seconds, adding Parmesan a bit at a time. Add in a few tablespoons pasta water as needed until the sauce is slightly thickened and creamy, it should cling to the pasta easily.

Remove the pan from the heat, fold in spinach to wilt. Stir in lemon juice (start with 2 tablespoons, add more to taste) and the remaining salt and pepper. Adjust with pasta water if it seems too thick.

Top with herbs and extra Parmesan, serve immediately.

This easy lemon chicken pasta recipe is creamy, fresh, and ready in 30 minutes. A simple weeknight dinner made with tender chicken, pasta, and lemon sauce.
