London Broil is a perfectly tender piece of meat after being marinated in a liquid mixture with spices and seasoning then broiled in the oven. A decadent dinner made easy!  

Perfectly Tender London Broil

soy sauce

lemon juice

olive oil

Worcestershire sauce

Tablespoon minced garlic

Italian seasoning

pepper

salt

red pepper

London Broil Round Steak

Prepare the steak marinade by adding soy sauce, lemon juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper to a large gallon bag. Add the steak and let marinade for 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat the broiler to high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and put in a baking dish. Broil for 5-6 minutes and then flip to the other side and broil for 3-4 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 125 for medium rare.

Let the steak rest for 10 minutes and slice

Sous Vide London Broil with Dijon Soy Glaze is the perfect way to turn an inexpensive cut of beef into a tender and flavorful steak!

Sous Vide London Broil with Dijon Soy Glaze

London broil (top round or flank steak)

garlic

brown sugar

Dijon mustard

rice vinegar

Heat a sous vide water bath to 132F degrees.

Salt the London broil on each side (1 teaspoon per side) and let it sit for about 30-90 minutes at room temperature (see note).

Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl to make the sauce.

Combine the beef and the sauce in a resealable or vacuum seal bag.

Use the &quot;wet&quot; function on the vacuum sealer to seal the bag, or use the water displacement method (above) if using a zip lock bag, to remove all the air.

Place the bag in the heated water bath and cook for 7 hours (add one hour if cooking from frozen).

Remove the bag and place it in an ice bath for 10 minutes.

Remove the beef from the bag and pat dry. Pour the drippings from the bag into a small saucepan.

Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook until its reduced, about 3-4 minutes (see note).

Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over high heat until smoking and add the London broil.

Sear for about 1 minute per side. Remove, slice, and serve drizzled with the Dijon soy glaze.

Dinner nights will be more interesting once you try cooking up this london broil recipe. The wine infused marinate and spices are what flavor the juicy meat

Marinated London Broil with Mushroom Sauce Recipe

lb London broil

lb Portobello mushrooms

dry red wine

parsley

tsp rosemary

tbsp shallots

beef broth

tomatoes

Step 1.1

Place London broil along with mushrooms, wine, parsley, rosemary, garlic and shallots in a plastic bag and secure.

Step 1.2

Place in the refrigerator for about an hour to marinate.

Step 1.3

Remove beef from marinade and place in a large skillet and cook over medium heat until cooked to your liking. Place steak aside.

Step 1.4

In the same skillet, place reserved marinade, beef broth and tomatoes and cook over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Slice London broil and pour sauce over meat.

This less expensive cut of beef is marinated overnight and then seared in a skillet on the stovetop producing a flavorful, tender steak. Be sure to read my helpful recipe tips for a delicious outcome.

lbs London Broil (sirloin or flank steak)

balsamic vinegar

thyme

oregano

kosher salt.

vegetable oil or canola oil

Pound the steak on both sides with the ridged side of a meat mallet.

In a large zipper plastic bag, mix garlic, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, brown sugar, thyme, oregano, fresh ground black pepper, and kosher salt.  Add the steak; seal and refrigerate for 12-24 hours, turning several times. 

Remove the steak from the bag, discarding the marinade. Thoroughly dry with paper towels. Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and place a heavy skillet bottom down on it to weigh it down and sear it.  Cook for about 6-7 minutes.  Keep an eye on the steak. If it is cooking too fast reduce the heat. Flip and sear the other side for about 5 minutes, placing the skillet on it.

Remove to a cutting board.  Cover with a loose aluminum tent; let rest for 10 minutes. Using a sharp knife, slice thinly against the grain.  Serve promptly.
