Hawaiian Macaroni Salad

elbow macaroni

In a pot over medium heat, bring about 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add elbow macaroni and cook according to the package&#039;s direction.

Drain well and transfer to a large bowl.

While still hot, drizzle the apple cider vinegar and add the carrots and onions. Gently toss to evenly distribute and let stand for about 10 to 15 minutes.

In another bowl, combine mayonnaise, milk, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until smooth.

Add half of the mayonnaise dressing over the macaroni mixture, and gently toss together all of the ingredients to coat. Let stand for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Add the remaining half of the mayonnaise dressing to the pasta mixture and toss again to distribute. Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.

Cover the bowl with a tight-fitting lid and refrigerate for about 2 to 3 hours to completely chill and the flavors to meld. Serve cold.

A necessary side to go with any heavy dish like kalbi, katsu, teriyaki chicken, etc. This is the perfect recipe to use a starting base to add in many more additions like tuna, imitation crab, etc.

Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Add in the maracroni and cook it past al dente. About 10-15 minutes. Drain and transfer to a boil and let it chill the fridge for the time being.

Bring another pot of lightly salted water to a boil and add in the potatoes. Let it boil until all of the potatoes are cooked through. About 5-8 minutes. Drain and transfer it to a large mixing bowl.

In the mixing bowl with the potatoes combine it with the hardboiled egg and mayonnaise. Then add in the macaroni, onions, carrot, salt, and pepper. Mix until it has combined well.

Let it set in the fridge for 20-40 minutes before serving. Adjust more mayonnaise to your liking, and enjoy!

In a medium bowl, whisk together the half and half, mayo, grated onion, sugar, salt, and pepper. Chill until ready to use.

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the macaroni. Add 5 minutes to time on package instructions - overcooking the pasta helps it absorb the dressing.

Drain macaroni, then add back to pot. Add apple cider vinegar and stir until absorbed. Cover pot and set aside to come down to room temperature, at least 20 minutes.

Once pasta has rested 20 minutes, add half the dressing and stir to combine. Cover again and let cool 20 minutes more.

Add in remaining dressing, along with celery and carrots. Adjust seasoning as needed and chill until ready to use, at least 2 hours. Enjoy!

Sweet Pickle Relish

Red, Orange, and Yellow Peppers ((diced))

Celery ((diced))

Carrot ((diced))

Red Onion ((finely diced))

Mayonnaise

Sour Cream

Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar ((or white vinegar))

Tablespoons Sugar

Tablespoon Deli or Dijon Mustard

Red Chili Flakes

Garlic Powder

Salt

Pepper

Heat a large pot of water over high heat until boiling. Add a generous amount of salt to season the pasta while it cooks. Once the water is boiling, cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain.

Meanwhile, chop the vegetables. Dice the peppers, celery, carrots, and onion into finely diced pieces.

Once the pasta is drained, add to a large bowl. Toss the diced vegetables into the pasta.

In a medium bowl, stir together mayonnaise, sour cream, red wine vinegar, sugar, mustard, red chili flakes, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Toss pasta and vegetables with dressing and stir well to coat. Taste for seasonings and add more salt and pepper, if needed. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Boil the macaroni

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, generously salt the water. Add in the pasta and cook to al dente, according to package directions. Drain the pasta, rinsing with cold water, and set aside.

Assemble the macaroni salad

Add cooled elbows to a large mixing bowl with the grated carrot, mayonnaise, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, turmeric, &amp; cayenne (if using). Season with 1 teaspoon kosher salt &amp; ground black pepper, as desired. Stir to combine, seasoning with additional spices &amp;/or salt as needed.

Serve immediately

This is one of the best macaroni salads I have ever had. So easy and delicious. I used rotini because it's what I had on hand and it was great.

This was amazing. I actually refrigerated it for an hour or so just because dinner wasn't ready yet, and the flavors blended very well. It was next to corn on my plate and it tasted great together.
