These oven baked kid-friendly turkey and rice meatballs are the perfect iron-rich finger food for your baby, children of all ages, and adults!

Asian Turkey Rice Meatballs

Heat oven to 350F. Lightly oil a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.

Add the veggies to a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. You can also do this by hand. I like to use my mini manual food chopper for simple, small tasks like this.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook vegetables until softened, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl. 

Add the rice, sesame oil, garlic powder, and cheese. Combine until well-incorporated. If the rice (or whatever grain you&#x27;re using) is too hard then microwave briefly to soften.

Add the turkey and mix gently using hands (don’t overwork the meat!) . Working with wet hands, shape into small-sized balls. I highly recommend using an ice cream scooper.

Place on baking sheet. In a small oven-safe dish(es), add some water and place in the pan alongside the meatballs.

Bake for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

These Chicken Meatballs for babies, toddlers and kids are soft, delicious and nutritious. They are a great source of protein and are made with added veggies and fruit.

Chicken Meatballs for Babies

olive oil

onion (, finely chopped)

carrot (, peeled and finely grated)

(¾ cup) breadcrumbs ((optional see notes))

tbsp milk ((optional see notes))

pear

apple

tsp parsley

tsp smoked paprika

(1.1lb) chicken mince (ground chicken)

Preheat oven to 200c / 400f and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion and carrot, over a low heat, until soft. (For around 5 mins)

In a small bowl, pour the milk over the breadcrumbs and allow to sit for 5 mins.

Place the apple and pear onto a clean cloth and squeeze as much juice as you can out of them. (save the juice for smoothies etc)

Add all the ingredients, apart from the ground chicken, to a mixing bowl and mix with your hands until all the ingredients are mixed together. Add the chicken mince and then gently mix, with your hands, until just combined.

Shape tablespoons of the mixture into balls and place on the lined baking tray.  (I made 28 balls.)

Place in the oven and bake for approx. 20 mins, until golden and cooked through. Alternatively shallow fry, in batches, for around 6 minutes, until golden on both sides and cooked through.

Add the softened veg to a mixing bowl along with grated apple and pear, milk-soaked breadcrumbs, smoked paprika, chopped parsley and chicken mince. Gently mix with hands until combined.
