Melting Moments. How to make the old fashioned melting moments recipe in the air fryer. Loaded with glace cherries and rolled in coconut you will love this British bakery classic. An easy to follow authentic recipe that is ideal for afternoon tea, movie nights or birthday parties.

Air Fryer Melting Moments

Air Fryer

Hand Mixer

g Margarine

g Caster Sugar

Medium Egg

Tsp Vanilla Essence

175 g Self Raising Flour

Tbsp Desiccated Coconut

Glace Cherries

Load

Load into a bowl your margarine and caster sugar and mix with a hand mixer until light and fluffy.

Add in egg and vanilla essence and mix well. Then add in flour and mix again. Get rid of the hand mixer and use a fork to make sure the sides of the bowl are completely clear of the mixture and that its well mixed.

Roll

Load a bowl with dedicated coconut and add flour to your hands. Using your hands make cookie balls with the batter and then roll well in the coconut. Do this until you have done all your batter.

Place

Load the melting moment cookie dough onto a baking pan that will fit in the air fryer. Add half a glace cherry on top of each, pressing down so that it wont fall off.

Cook

Place into the air fryer and air fry for 8 minutes at 180c/360f and serve while warm.

These cookies are literally melting in your mouth! Simple. Easy. Scrumptious! You probably already have all the ingredients in your pantry.

Melting Moments Cookies (Cornstarch Butter Cookies)

unsalted butter (250 grams), softened at room temperature

sugar(75 grams)

vanilla extract

cornstarch (65 grams)

all-purpose flour (200 grams)

salt

sugar

In a large mixing bowl, mix butter, powdered sugar and vanilla extract with an electric mixer or in a stand mixer with a paddle attachment until smooth.

You can do the same steps with your hands too. Just make sure you combine everything well.

Cover and chill the dough for half an hour.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make mini balls from the dough and place on the baking sheet leaving about 1-inch space.

Gently press a fork on the cookies to give them a nice shape. (See how to make it in the video below)

Bake for 13 minutes or until the edges are very slightly golden.

Remove from the oven, let them sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Then transfer onto a wire rack to cool them completely. 

These turned out FANTASTIC. Highly recommend. I didn't actually expect them to melt in my mouth, but they did! And I was so excited to make my whole family try them. Thanks so much for the recipe!

I think I should have read the comments before making. I followed the recipe with 1 1/2 c flour and 1/2 c of corn starch and they were crumbling. I had to use the warmth of my hands to melt them into balls before baking. 
Then after baking them, they are dry. 

Please revise, albeit it’s a great recipe with the proper measurements.

I made this cookie yesterday for  holiday party and it was a big hit! my Irish friend said "perfect short bread". Thank you for always giving such easy to follow directions. Every recipe I make--- made a few already--- turns with great flavors... and brings a little taste of home to me.

INGREDIENTS
1 and ½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup powdered sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
topping:
1 cup powdered sugar

INSTRUCTIONS
In a medium bowl, combine flour, cornstarch and salt.

In another bowl, mix butter and sugar with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add in vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until everything is well blended.
You can do the same steps with your hands too. Just make sure you combine everything well.
Chill the dough for half an hour.
Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make mini balls from the dough and place on the baking sheet leaving about 1-inch space.
Gently press a fork on the cookies to give them a nice shape. (See the video above)
Bake for 13 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.
Sift powdered sugar on them.
