Overnight Salad, also known as seven-layer salad, is a classic with its ease of preparation and abundance of delicious flavors and textures!

Overnight Salad or Seven Layer Salad

lettuce

eggs

green bell pepper (chopped)

red bell pepper (chopped)

red onion (thinly sliced)

peas (defrosted)

tomatoes

onions

cranberries

cheddar cheese (shredded)

bacon

sour cream

mayonnaise

buttermilk

garlic powder

onion powder

dill

parsley

In a medium bowl, combine all dressing ingredients and mix well. Set aside.

Place lettuce on the bottom of a large bowl or you can also use a 9x13 casserole dish.

Top with the first 5 ingredients, uniformly layering each other on top of the other.

Next, top with half of the bacon and drizzle half of the dressing on top.

Layer the remaining ingredients in the following order: defrosted peas, diced tomatoes, diced green onions, and the cranberries.

Spread the remaining dressing on top to seal the edges and top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Cover the salad with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Top with the remaining chopped bacon and chopped green onions before serving.

tomatoes (diced, or sliced cherry tomatoes)

peas (defrosted (uncooked))

green onions (or red onions, sliced)

sugar

salt

Combine all dressing ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.

Place lettuce in the bottom of a large bowl (or 9x13 pan).

Top with tomatoes, peas, onions and boiled eggs. Spread dressing overtop to seal the edges. Top with cheese.

Cover salad and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.

Top with bacon before serving.

vinegar or lemon juice

orange sections

pineapple chunks

marshmallows

maraschino cherries

whipping cream, whipped

In a pan over medium heat, beat the eggs, sugar, and vinegar or lemon juice until thick. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a large bowl, mix together oranges, pineapple, marshmallows, and cherries. Add cooled egg mixture and stir to combine.

Gently stir in whipped cream and chill 24 hours. Serve and enjoy!
