This easy slow cooker pulled pork is a healthy recipe made with simple seasonings. 5 minutes of prep for an easy Paleo, Whole30 + Keto pulled pork recipe!

Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork (Paleo, Whole30 + Keto)

lb pork shoulder ((or boston butt))

Salt

Pepper

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Chili powder

tbsp Smoked paprika

Chicken broth

Place all of the seasonings in a small bowl and mix well to make the spice rub.

Massage the spice rub all over the meat. You may have some left over if you have a smaller cut of meat.

If you have the time, wrap and refrigerate the meat for 3 hours or as long as 24 to let the rub set in. If you are planning ahead, I recommend letting the rub set in. If you don't have the time, just season the pork and start cooking.

Place the pork into the slow cooker and pour the chicken broth in.

Cook on low for 8-10 hours.

Remove the pork from the crock pot and place it on a cutting board.

Shred with two forks or tongs and serve. You can spoon some of the juices from the slow cooker on to the pork for serving.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Recipe with Homemade BBQ Sauce {Paleo}

garlic

tomato sauce (in the can)

tomato paste

maple syrup

apple cider vinegar

tamari sauce

Dijon mustard

molasses ((optional))

salt

black pepper

chili powder

smoked paprika

cayenne pepper

cinnamon

pork shoulder

Add oil to a medium sized saucepan set over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 5 minutes. Make sure to stir the mixture frequently and watch the garlic because it can burn easily.

Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, tamari, mustard and molasses (if using) into the pan. Stir to combine.

Add in seasonings and spices including the salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon. Stir to combine.

Allow mixture to come to a simmer over medium-low heat and cook for about 12-15 minutes, stirring frequently. Just be careful because if the heat is too high, the mixture will start to boil and splatter.

Place pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Pour sauce over top. Cook for 8-10 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high.

Shred the pork using two forks (you may wish to transfer the pork to a separate plate) and remove any visible fat. Add the pork back to the sauce and toss to combine. Serve warm.
